Region 8 ESC Special Services Parent Conference and Agency Fair “Success Begins at Home” A.M. Keynote: Patrick Henry Hughes Patrick Henry Hughes and his father share an incredible story of tragedy to triumph and have been featured on ESPN, Oprah, The Ellen Show, Extreme Make Over Home Edition, The Today Show, Million Dollar Round Table, The Grand Ole Opry, People Magazine, Sports Illustrated, and many, many others. Patrick Henry is a remarkable young man who was born without eyes and without the ability to fully straighten his arms and legs, making him unable to walk. Faced with incredible odds from birth, Patrick has overcome these physical issues to excel as a musician, student, performer and public speaker.

P.M. Keynote: Ryan Foley In 1990 Ryan was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS) at five years of age and later received the diagnosis of Aspergers Disorder. He was put in a self-contained classroom following his initial diagnosis. After 2 ½ years, his parents insisted that he be placed in a classroom with typically developing peers. As a result, Ryan became one of the first students with autism in Texas to enjoy the benefits of an inclusive education.
