TODDTEX FABRIC IS WHAT MAKES BIBLER TENTS WORK ToddTex is totally waterproof, windproof, and the most breathable of all waterproof/breathable fabrics—far more breathable than other companies’ single-wall tent fabrics, while also being more waterproof. ToddTex is a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film—a thin film of stretched Teflon®— laminated to a ripstop outer fabric and a fuzzy polyester inner fabric. The outer layer is a 30-denier high tenacity nylon ripstop woven in a symmetric 132 x 132 count pattern, and weighs 28 g (1.1 oz) per square yard. The high-tenacity nylon is resistant to UV degradation and is treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish to prevent wetting out of the surface. The inner layer of ToddTex is a fuzzy Nexus® lining that wicks water as fast as a paper towel. This action disperses moisture across the interior of the tent for rapid evaporation through the PTFE membrane.

I-TENT The I-Tent is our smallest and lightest shelter, offering protection for two in a small, light package. Originally intended for technical climbing on big mountains, the I-Tent has also become a favorite solo shelter. It is very tight for people over 178 cm (5’ 10”). FITZROY The Fitzroy is our strongest tent. It combines four Easton 7075-E9 aluminum poles, seven pole intersections and three-point equalizing guy lines with a low profile to create a tent able to withstand the angriest storm. TEMPEST By combining ToddTex fabric, builtin vestibules and less sophisticated 13 cm construction techniques, we have 44.5 in) produced a storm-shedding mountain tent at a better price. The Tempest uses four Easton 7075-E9 aluminum poles and a wind-shedding shape for strength 47 cm in the most extreme conditions. Two (58 in) doors with integrated vestibules provide convenient access and storage areas. The Tempest is a lightweight two-person tent with lots of living space.

Do not remove the hoop for packing. Coil the hoop, while placing it in the stuff sack and then stuffing the rest of the Bivy Sack, or roll the bivy from the toe end, coiling the hoop around the roll. Avoid making sharp bends in the wire.

BIPOD BIVY The Bipod Bivy fills the gap between the minimalist style of the standard bivy and the near-tent style of the Tripod Bivy. One Easton aluminum pole keeps the fabric well off your face, while maintaining minimal weight and a compact packed size. No-see-um netting keeps flying critters at bay.

USE, CARE AND MAINTENANCE STAKING Always stake out your tent using all points provided. Staking out your tent must not be considered optional! YES, your tent can easily be dragged by modest winds. Tent stakes and guylines are included with your tent. The

webbing loops stitched into the seams above ground level stakeout points must be utilized to ensure strength and stability of the tent (especially in broadside winds).

SNOW CONDITIONS Be extremely careful when shoveling snow from around your tent, because the shovel can easily tear the fabric. NEVER brush snow off your tent with any hard objects, such as sticks, shovels, ice axes, etc.

ATTACHING OPTIONAL GROUND CLOTH Fitted ground cloths are available for all Bibler Tents. Along the edges of the ground cloths are reinforced grommets. These can be used to attach the ground cloth to the tent stakeouts so that it is secured under the tent. Tie a short loop of cord through each of the corner ground cloth grommets. Slip this loop over the corner tent stakeout when staking out the tent. The ground cloth can also be used as a tarp—use the grommets along the edges to suspend or anchor it.

CARE AND CLEANING Tents and bivies must be stored dry. Storing your tent wet or damp will result in the growth of mildew, which will cause your tent to smell, delaminate, and leak. Mildew also attacks both the urethane coating of parts of the tent and the nylon fabric, causing loss of strength and eventual breakdown. If you suspect mildew, act right away. Washing with McNett MiraZyme™ cleaner will usually stop and remove mild cases of mildew. Advanced mildew will not wash out. Mildew damage is not covered under warranty. Those living in wet climates should probably wash in MiraZyme once every two years, whether mildew is showing or not. Do not dry clean or machine wash your tent. If lightly soiled, the floor and exterior walls can be sponged clean with warm water. Never use detergents or liquid soaps of any kind as they may cause the fabric to lose waterproofness. ToddTex is a three-layer PTFE laminate. Like similar fabrics, it is important to avoid contamination of the PTFE film. Take care to keep your tent clean and away from oils, grease, and solvents, including sunscreens and mosquito repellent, and you will be rewarded with years of good service. In order to protect the fabric, remove all dirt and debris from inside the tent before storing.

To Wash: If it becomes necessary to wash the entire tent, avoid hot water, bleach, dishwashing liquid or any type of liquid soap or detergent. Hand wash in a bathtub using only cool water and MiraZyme, made by McNett™ Corporation. This wash-in product cleans, eliminates odor, and helps to remove mildew. It is available through Black Diamond Mail Order. Be sure your tent is totally dry before putting it away. This may take 24 hours or more. DO NOT SPRAY OR WASH YOUR TENT WITH ANY WATER REPELLENTS OR CLEANING AGENTS OTHER THAN THOSE RECOMMENDED BY BIBLER TENTS. Use of any other agents may void your warranty.

ZIPPERS Zippers require maintenance, especially if camping in sandy or dirty environments. Sand and dirt in the zippers is the leading cause of failure. When dirty, rinse your tent off with a hose, applying water pressure to the zippers to wash off dirt. Application of a zipper lubricant such as McNett Zip Care™ will aid in extending the life of your zippers. Even with this, if your zipper becomes difficult to slide, it is important to repair it right away. Often just the sliders can be changed out, restoring the zipper to near-new condition for a very small fee. If you force worn out sliders along the zipper chain, it will damage the chain, requiring a much more expensive repair.

POLES Our lightweight, fully shock-corded aluminum poles are incredibly strong, but they are not indestructible. When used as recommended, they will not break. The anodized finish helps protect against corrosion, but the poles should still be carefully dried along with the tent before storage. When setting up the tent, it is very important that the poles click together properly. Ferrules that are not fully closed will result in the pole breaking when it is flexed. The shockcord should be strong, aggressively pulling the pole together into the proper position. Shockcords loose some elasticity when cold or wet. Shockcords also become stretched out over time, and should be adjusted when they become weak. Here’s how: The shockcord in the poles is adjustable—this is one reason we do not put end tips on most of our poles. (For poles with end-tips, use pliers to grasp the tip, and pull it out of the pole. The end tips are a force-fit). To tighten the shockcord, you will need a pair of needle nose pliers, a pair of scissors and a pair of forceps or an alligator clip (or another person). Snap the pole out to its full length.

Look in the end of the pole—you should be able to see the cut end of the shockcord, maybe 1 cm (1/2 in) recessed into the pole. Grab the end with the pliers. You might need to snag it and pull it out with needle nose pliers, a sharp pencil or cut-off coat hanger. (If the end is not within reach on either end, pull off the end segment at one end. From the body of the pole, pull the shockcord as tight as possible, which should give you a foot or more of slack. Push the slack into the bottom of the end segment until the end of the shockcord appears at the top end.) Don’t let go of the elastic. The shockcord is held in place by a knot jamming against the ferrule inside the pole. Pull the shockcord out until the knot appears. Pull it further, until a little more than the desired tightness is achieved. Tie the same kind of overhand-knot, and work it back into the pole. Fold up the pole. Does this length work? If it is too tight, the poles will be difficult to fold up. If it is too loose, the pole will not snap together crisply. Readjust the location of the knot if needed. When satisfied, snip the cord off flush with the end of the pole.

POLE MAINTENANCE Poles should be periodically inspected. While pole segments will take a bit of a “set,” sharper bends or deflection of more than one pole diameter are reason for concern. Look especially for bends at the ends of ferrules. Segments with bends should be replaced. To replace pole segments, measure the anodized (black) length of the pole and determine whether your pole is one with or without a ferrule in one end. Order replacement segments from Black Diamond Mail Order. Release the shockcord and replace the segments. Be sure to keep the segments in the correct order and orientation.

UTILISATION, PRÉCAUTIONS ET ENTRETIEN AMARRAGE Prenez toujours soin d’amarrer votre tente en utilisant tous les points d’amarrage existants. Ne considérez pas l’amarrage de votre tente comme une option ! OUI, votre tente peut facilement être emportée par des vents faibles. Les piquets de tente et les haubans sont fournis avec votre tente. Utilisez les boucles de sangles cousues dans les coutures au-dessus des pattes d’amarrage pour assurer à votre tente la résistance et la stabilité nécessaires en particulier en présence de vents latéraux.

EN CAS DE NEIGE Soyez extrêmement prudent lorsque vous déblayez la neige autour de votre tente car le godet de votre pelle à neige peut facilement déchirer la toile. NE DEBLAYEZ JAMAIS la surface enneigée de votre tente à l’aide d’objets durs et/ou pointus tels que bâtons de randonnée, pelles à neige, piolets, etc. Comment attacher le tapis de sol proposé en option Un tapis de sol est disponible en option pour toutes les tentes Bibler. Les bords de ce tapis de sol sont munis d’œillets renforcés. Ceux-ci peuvent être utilisés pour attacher le tapis de sol aux pattes d’amarrage de la tente.

Attachez une petite boucle de corde dans chaque œillet de coin du tapis. Enfilez cette boucle sur la patte d’amarrage de chaque coin de la tente au moment d’amarrer celle-ci. Le tapis de sol peut également servir de bâche : utilisez les œillets le long des bords pour le suspendre ou l’amarrer.

PRÉCAUTIONS ET NETTOYAGE Les tentes et les bivouacs doivent être rangés secs. Si vous stockez votre tente encore mouillée ou humide, celle-ci risque de moisir, de sentir mauvais, puis de perdre son revêtement imperméabilisant et finalement de prendre l’eau. La moisissure endommage à la fois le revêtement uréthane des différentes parties de la tente et le tissu en nylon, ce qui diminue la résistance et entraîne d’irrémédiables détériorations. Si vous repérez un quelconque signe de moisissure, agissez sans plus tarder. Un lavage à l’aide du nettoyant McNett MiraZyme™ remédie généralement à la plupart des cas de moisissure. Attention, ce lavage ne viendra pas à bout de la moisissure si elle est parvenue à un stade avancé. Les dégâts causés par la moisissure ne sont pas couverts par la garantie. Si vous habitez dans des régions particulièrement humides, il est conseillé de laver votre tente au MiraZyme tous les deux ans, signe de moisissure ou pas. Ne lavez pas votre tente en machine, ne la séchez pas non plus au sèchelinge. Lavez le sol et les parois externes avec une éponge humectée d’eau chaude si nécessaire. N’utilisez jamais de détergents ou de savons liquides courants qui pourraient altérer la résistance à l’eau du tissu. Le ToddTex™ est une membrane PTFE tri-couche. Comme pour tous les tissus de ce type, il est important d’éviter d’endommager le revêtement PTFE. Essayez de garder votre tente propre et évitez les huiles, la graisse, les solvants, y compris les crèmes solaires et les anti-moustiques. Elle vous le rendra par des années de bons et loyaux services ! Afin de protéger le tissu, ôtez toutes les saletés que vous trouverez à l’intérieur de la tente avant de la stocker. Lavage : Si un lavage complet de la tente s’avère nécessaire, évitez : l’eau chaude, l’eau de Javel, les liquides vaisselle ou tout type de savon liquide ou de détergent. Lavez à la main dans une baignoire à l’eau froide et au MiraZyme™. Ce produit nettoyant fabriqué par McNett™ Corporation élimine les odeurs et aide à venir à bout de la moisissure. FERMETURE À GLISSIÈRE Les fermetures à glissière exigent de l’entretien, en particulier si vous campez dans des lieux où abondent la poussière ou le sable. La toute première cause de détérioration des fermetures à glissière est le sable et la poussière. Si votre tente est poussiéreuse, rincez celle-ci à l’aide d’un tuyau, en utilisant la pression de l’eau pour désencrasser la fermeture. L’application d’un lubrifiant tel que McNett Zip Care™ prolongera la vie de vos fermetures à glissière. Si toutefois votre fermeture glisse mal, réparez-la sans plus tarder. Il est quelquefois nécessaire de remplacer uniquement les curseurs, ce qui permet de donner une nouvelle vie à la fermeture pour une somme modique. Si vous forcez les curseurs usés à glisser le long de la chaîne de la fermeture, vous risquez d’endommager celle-ci et une réparation bien plus coûteuse sera nécessaire.

ARCEAUX Nos arceaux en aluminium munis de câbles de tension sont extrêmement légers et robustes mais ils ne sont pas indestructibles. Si vous les utilisez comme nous vous le conseillons, ils ne se casseront pas. Leur finition anodisée permet de les protéger contre la corrosion. Toutefois pensez à faire soigneusement sécher les arceaux ainsi que la tente avant de les stocker. Lors de l’installation de la tente, il est très important de s’assurer que les arceaux sont correctement emboîtés. Les arceaux dont les viroles sont mal emboîtées peuvent se rompre lors de leur flexion. Le câble de tension doit mettre solidement et brutalement l’arceau dans la bonne position. Lorsqu’ils sont froids ou humides, les câbles de tension peuvent perdre un peu d’élasticité. Ces câbles peuvent également s’étirer avec le temps et doivent être réajustés lorsqu’ils sont trop détendus. Procédez comme ceci : Le câble à l’intérieur des arceaux est réglable. C’est la raison pour laquelle la plupart de nos arceaux ne comporte pas de pointes à leurs extrémités. (Pour les arceaux munis de pointes, utilisez une pince pour ôter la pointe.

Ces pointes tiennent par un simple ajustage serré). Pour resserrer le câble, vous aurez besoin d’une paire de pinces à becs pointus, une paire de ciseaux et une paire de tenailles ou une pince crocodile (ou bien encore une tierce personne disponible pour vous aider). Dépliez l’arceau sur toute sa longueur. Observez l’extrémité de celui-ci et repérez le bout du câble de tension. Attrapez le bout de ce câble à l’aide d’une pince ou si nécessaire d’un crayon pointu ou d’un fil de fer. (S’il vous est impossible d’attraper l’extrémité d’un côté ou de l’autre, retirez un des segments en bout d’arceau. Une fois le corps de l’arceau en main, tirez sur le câble autant que possible, ce qui devrait vous donner plusieurs centimètres de mou. Enfilez le mou dans le bas du segment que vous avez retiré jusqu’à ce que le bout du câble ressorte par le haut). Ne laissez pas filer l’élastique. Le câble est maintenu en place grâce à un nœud d’arrêt situé contre la virole à l’intérieur de l’arceau. Tirez sur le câble jusqu’à ce que le nœud apparaisse. Tirez encore un peu jusqu’à obtention du degré de serrage désiré. Confectionnez le même nœud d’arrêt et replacez-le dans l’arceau. Pliez l’arceau : cette longueur de câble est-elle satisfaisante ? Si le câble est trop serré, l’arceau se pliera difficilement. Si le câble est trop lâche, l’arceau ne s’emboîtera pas correctement. Réajustez la position du nœud si besoin est. Lorsque le résultat vous convient, coupez le câble qui dépasse au ras de l’extrémité de l’arceau.

ENTRETIEN DES ARCEAUX Les arceaux doivent être inspectés régulièrement. S’il est normal que les segments des arceaux prennent avec l’usage une certaine “courbure”, en revanche des coudes plus accentués ou des déformations de plus d’un diamètre d’arceau doivent vous alerter. Repérez en particulier les coudes près des extrémités des viroles. Les parties coudées doivent être remplacées. Pour remplacer des segments d’arceaux, mesurez la longueur anodisée (noire) de l’arceau et déterminez si votre arceau est un arceau mâle ou femelle. Vous pouvez passer commande des segments d’arceaux nécessaires à Black Diamond. Desserrez le câble de tension et remplacez les segments comme souhaité. Assurez-vous que vous remplacez correctement les segments d’arceaux, en respectant l’ordre et le sens de ceux-ci.

Ihr Zelt kann auch von LEICHTEN Winden über den Boden geschleift werden. Heringe und Spannleinen sind im Lieferumfang Ihres Zelts enthalten. Die in die Nähte eingearbeiteten Schlaufen aus Gurtband dienen zum Befestigen und müssen verwendet werden, um Festigkeit und Stabilität des Zelts zu gewährleisten (vor allem bei Seitenwind).

SCHNEE Gehen Sie sehr umsichtig vor, wenn Sie in der näheren Zeltumgebung Schnee schaufeln, da Sie mit der Schaufel den Zeltstoff beschädigen können. Fegen Sie Schnee NIEMALS mit harten Gegenständen wie Stöcken, Schaufeln, Eisgeräten usw. von Ihrem Zelt. Anbringen der optionalen Bodenplane Bodenplanen sind für alle Bibler-Zelte in der jeweiligen Grösse erhältlich. Entlang der Planenkante sind verstärkte Tüllen eingearbeitet. Hiermit kann die Bodenplane an den Befestigungsschlaufen angebracht werden, so dass Sie sicher unter dem Zelt liegt. Knoten Sie an den Ecken der Bodenplane durch jede Tülle eine kleine Schlaufe aus Schnur. Ziehen Sie diese Schlaufe beim Befestigen des Zelts über die Eckschlaufen. Die Bodenplane kann auch als Baldachin aufgespannt werden. Verwenden Sie die Tüllen an den Ecken zur Befestigung und zum Abspannen.

PFLEGE UND REINIGUNG Zelte und Biwaksäcke müssen trocken gelagert werden. Wird das Zelt nass oder feucht gelagert, kann sich Schimmel bilden. Dies führt zu schlechtem Geruch und zu einer Delaminierung des Gewebes, so dass das Zelt nicht mehr wasserdicht ist. Ausserdem greift der Schimmel die Urethanbeschichtung der Zeltteile und das Nylongewebe an. Dies vermindert die Festigkeit und schliesslich reisst das Gewebe ein. Sollten sich erste Anzeichen eines Schimmelbefalls bilden, unternehmen Sie sofort etwas dagegen. Mit dem Spezialwaschmittel MiraZyme™ von McNett kann ein leichter Schimmelbefall normalerweise gestoppt und entfernt werden. Fortgeschrittener Schimmelbefall kann nicht mehr ausgewaschen werden. Schäden durch Schimmelbefall sind von der Garantie ausgeschlossen. Personen, die in Gegenden mit feuchtem Klima zu Hause sind, sollten das Zelt etwa alle zwei Jahre mit MiraZyme waschen, ganz gleich, ob sich Schimmelbildung zeigt oder nicht. Waschen Sie Ihr Zelt nicht in einer Waschmaschine und geben Sie es nicht in die Reinigung. Bei einer leichten Verschmutzung können die Aussenwände mit einem Schwamm und warmen Wasser gereinigt werden. Verwenden Sie niemals Reinigungsmittel oder Flüssigseifen jeglicher Art. Dies kann dazu führen, dass das Gewebe an Wasserdichtigkeit verliert. ToddTex ist ein PTFE-Laminatgewebe mit drei Schichten. Wie bei ähnlichen Geweben ist es auch hier wichtig, eine Verunreinigung des PTFE-Films zu vermeiden. Dieses Produkt eignet sich hervorragend zur Reinigung von allem, was nicht in der Waschmaschine gewaschen werden kann, beseitigt Gerüche und entfernt Schimmel. REISSVERSCHLÜSSE Auch Reissverschlüsse erfordern eine gewisse Pflege, besonders in sandigen und schmutzigen Umgebungen. Sand und Schmutz im Reissverschluss stellen den Hauptgrund für eine Fehlfunktion dar. Ist das Zelt sehr verdreckt, spritzen Sie es mit einem Gartenschlauch ab. Reinigen Sie die Reissverschlüsse mit erhöhtem Wasserdruck, um Sand und Schmutzpartikel zu entfernen. Die Verwendung eines speziellen Schmiermittels (z. B. McNett Zip Care™) kann die Lebensdauer von Reissverschlüssen verlängern. Sollte sich der Reissverschluss trotz aller Vorkehrungen nur noch schlecht öffnen und schliessen lassen, muss er sofort repariert werden. Oft reicht es, das Gleitstück auszutauschen. Dies ist nicht besonders teuer und anschliessend ist Ihr Reissverschluss so gut wie neu. Werden Reissverschlüsse mit abgenutzten Gleitstücken gewaltsam geschlossen oder geöffnet, kann dies zu einer Beschädigung der Reissverschlusszähne führen. Eine Reparatur wird in diesem Fall aufwändig und teuer.

ZELTSTANGEN Unsere leichten, an einer Zugschnur aufgefädelten Aluminiumstangen sind hochfest aber nicht unzerstörbar. Wenn Sie gemäss der Empfehlungen verwendet werden, brechen Sie nicht. Die eloxierte Oberfläche schützt zwar vor Korrosion, die Stangen sollten jedoch vor der Lagerung gleich wie das Zelt sorgfältig getrocknet werden. Beim Aufstellen des Zelts ist es wichtig, dass die Stangensegmente richtig eingerastet sind. Nicht vollständig geschlossene Segmenthülsen können brechen, wenn die Zeltstange gebogen wird. Die Zugschnur ist sehr fest, hochelastisch und hält die einzelnen Stangensegmente in der richtigen Position. Zugschnüre verlieren in kaltem oder nassem Zustand etwas an Elastizität. Ausserdem können sie im Laufe der Zeit ausleiern und sollten dann neu eingestellt werden. Die Zugschnur der Zeltstangen ist einstellbar. Aus diesem Grund haben die meisten unserer Stangen keine Aufsätze an den Enden. (Wenn Sie solche Aufsätze entfernen möchten, verwenden Sie eine kleine Zange, um den Aufsatz festzuhalten, und ziehen Sie ihn heraus. Die Endaufsätze sitzen sehr fest). Zum Festziehen der Zugschnur benötigen

Sie eine Nadelzange, eine Schere sowie eine Pinzette oder Krokodilklemme (oder eine andere Person). Stecken Sie die Stange in voller Länge zusammen. Sehen Sie in das Ende der Stange. Das abgeschnittene Ende der Zugschnur sollte ungefähr nach 1 cm im Inneren der Stange sichtbar sein. Klemmen Sie das Ende in der Pinzette ein. Möglicherweise müssen Sie es um eine Nadelzange, einen spitzen Stift o.ä. wickeln und herausziehen. (Wenn Sie an keiner Seite das Ende erreichen können, entfernen Sie an einem Ende das letzte Stangensegment. Ziehen Sie die Zugschnur so weit wie möglich aus der Stange heraus. Auf diese Weise sollte das Ende lang genug für das letzte Segment sein. Fädeln Sie nun das letzte Stangensegment wieder auf die Schnur, so dass das Ende hinten heraussteht.) Lassen Sie die Schnur nicht los. Die Hülse am Ende der Stange verhindert ein Durchrutschen der mit einem Knoten versehenen Zugschnur. Ziehen Sie die Zugschnur heraus, bis der Knoten erscheint. Ziehen Sie noch etwas weiter, bis die gewünschte Straffheit erzielt ist. Machen Sie einen neuen Knoten (Sackstich) und führen Sie die Schnur wieder in das Gestänge ein. Falten Sie das Gestänge zusammen. Ist diese Länge richtig? Ist die Schnur zu straff, ist ein Zusammenfalten schwierig. Ist sie zu locker, rasten die Stangensegmente nicht richtig ein. Passen Sie den Knoten gegebenenfalls neu an. Wenn Sie fertig sind, schneiden Sie den übrigen Teil so ab, dass er sich ein kleines Stück weit im Inneren der Stange befindet.

INSTANDHALTUNG DER ZELTSTANGEN Zeltstangen sollten regelmässig überprüft werden. Obwohl sich Stangensegmente im Laufe der Zeit etwas verbiegen, sollten Sie dennoch auf stärkere Verformungen oder Knicke mit mehr als einem Stangendurchmesser achten. Achten Sie besonders auf Verformungen am Ende der Hülsen. Stark verformte Segmente sollten ausgetauscht werden. Um einzelne Segmente zu ersetzen, messen Sie die eloxierte (schwarze) Länge des Segments und stellen Sie fest, ob das Segment am Ende eine Hülse besitzt oder nicht. Ersatzsegmente können über Black Diamond Mail Order bestellt werden. Öffnen Sie die Zugschnur und tauschen Sie die Segmente aus. Achten Sie darauf, die richtige Reihenfolge und Anordnung der Segmente beizubehalten.

USO, MANUTENZIONE E CURA PICCHETTI Fissate sempre la vostra tenda utilizzando tutti i punti di ancoraggio. Non considerate un opzional fissare la tenda! Sì, la tenda potrebbe essere sbalzata via anche da del vento modesto. Picchetti e tiranti sono inclusi. Le asole di fissaggio vicino al suolo devono essere utilizzate per assicurare tenuta e stabilità (in particolare in caso di vento forte).

IN CASO DI NEVE Fate particolare attenzione quando spalate la neve vicino alla tenda, perché la pala potrebbe tagliare il telo. NON TOGLIETE mai la neve dalla tenda con oggetti taglienti o affilati.

COME COLLEGARE UN PAVIMENTO AGGIUNTIVO Un telo da pavimento è disponibile per tutte le tende Bibler. Attorno al bordo del telo del pavimento ci sono delle asole gommate rinforzate. Queste possono essere utilizzate per collegare il pavimento alla tenda. Allacciate il cordino a ciascun angolo del pavimento. Fate scivolare questi anelli sotto gli angoli quando la fissate con i picchetti. Il pavimento può essere utilizzato come telo di fortuna e potete utilizzare le asole per legarlo in aria o per appenderlo.

MANUTENZIONE E CURA Le tende ed i sacchi da bivacco devono essere riposti asciutti. Riporre la tenda umida o bagnata farà crescere la muffa che rovinerà il tessuto. La muffa inoltre attacca entrambe le laminazioni di tessuto e le parti in nylon della tenda, causando eventuali perdite di tenuta, rotture ecc. Se sospettate formazioni di muffa dovete agire nel modo corretto. Lavate con McNett MiraZyme™ che normalmente è in grado di arrestare le formazioni di muffe. Nel caso di muffa estesa non si potrà fare nulla. Danni causati da muffe non sono coperti da garanzia. Quando si vive in zone umide sarà utile lavare ogni due anni la tenda con MiraZyme come prevenzione. Non lavate o asciugate la tenda in lavatrice. Se fossero sporchi, il pavimento

e l’esterno, possono essere puliti con acqua tiepida. Non utilizzate detergenti solidi o liquidi di qualche tipo, potrebbero rovinare la tenuta del tessuto all’acqua. ToddTex è un tessuto laminato a tre strati di PTFE. Come tutti questi tessuti, è importante preservarne la contaminazione. Proteggete la vostra tenda da oli, grassi, solventi, creme o insetticidi e sarete ricompensati con anni di buon servizio. Affinché il tessuto sia ben protetto rimuovete qualsiasi sporco o umidità dallo stesso prima di riporre la tenda. Lavaggio: se diventasse indispensabile lavare l’intera tenda, non utilizzate acqua calda, candeggina, sapone liquido o detergenti vari. Lavatela a mano in un catino utilizzando acqua fredda con MiraZyme, della McNett™ Corporation. Questo prodotto per la pulizia, elimina gli odori, ed aiuta a rimuovere le tracce di muffa. CERNIERE Le cerniere richiedono manutenzione, specialmente se campeggiate in luoghi sabbiosi o sporchi. La sabbia e lo sporco sono i principali nemici delle cerniere. Pulitele con dei getti d’acqua per farne fuoriuscire lo sporco. Applicate del lubrificante per cerniere quali McNett Zip Care™ che aiuterà a mantenere in funzione la cerniera nel tempo. Inoltre se le cerniere non si chiudono o fanno fatica a scorrere, è importante ripararle correttamente. Spesso è molto semplice ripararle e non è indispensabile sostituirle. Forzarne la chiusura potrebbe danneggiarle in modo irreparabile, causando una maggiore spesa causa la sostituzione completa.

PALI Le nostre palerie, in alluminio sono incredibilmente resistenti, ma non sono indistruttibili. Se utilizzate correttamente non si romperanno. La finitura anodizzata le protegge contro la corrosione, ma devono comunque essere riposte dopo l’uso, ben asciutte. Quando issate la tenda, è molto importante che i pali chiudano perfettamente tra loro. Inserti non bloccati possono rompersi facilmente. Il

cordino elastico è resistente e tiene ben saldi tra loro i pali. Quando diventa umido o ghiacciato tende a perdere elasticità. I cordini elastici col tempo perdono elasticità e devono essere regolati. Come fare: i cordini sono regolabili—questa è una delle ragioni per cui non mettiamo i terminali sulle palerie. Per tirare i cordini prendete delle pinze a becchi, un paio di forbici ed un paio di forcipi o pinze automatiche (o un’altra persona). Portate alla massima lunghezza il palo. Guardate la parte finale dell’asta—dovreste vedere la parte finale del cordino tagliata, potrebbe essere recesso di 1cm nel palo. Afferratela con le pinze. Dovrete afferrarla e spingerla fuori con l’aiuto di un oggetto appuntito (se non fosse raggiungibile sfilate un segmento finale. Tenendo la parte centrale tirate il cordino il più possibile, questo vi darà un po’ più gioco. Spingete questo gioco verso la parte finale del segmento fino a che vedrete comparire la parte finale del cordino che non riuscivate ad afferrare). Non lasciate del gioco elastico. Il cordino è trattenuto da un nodo all’interno dell’inserto. Tirate il cordino finchè vedete il nodo. Tiratelo o spostatelo alla lunghezza voluta finchè raggiungerete la tensione voluta. Riposizionate il nodo in modo che ritorni nell’inserto del palo. Piegate il palo smontando i segmenti. Questa lunghezza è corretta? Se è troppo corta, sarà difficile smontarlo e piegare tra loro i segmenti. Se è troppo allentato, il palo non resterà fermamente bloccato. Regolate nuovamente la posizione del nodo. Quando è corretta, tagliuzzate il cordino in eccesso.

MANUTENZIONE DELLE PALERIE I pali devono essere periodicamente controllati. Controllate eventuali inserti con un gioco elevato che fanno ballare i segmenti o che siano piegati. Segmenti danneggiati dovranno essere sostituiti. Per sostituire i segmenti, misurate la lunghezza del segmento anodizzato (nero) per determinare se il segmento è con o senza inserto nella parte finale. Ordinate il pezzo da sostituire a Black Diamond Mail Order. Sganciate il cordino elastico per sostituite il segmento. Accertatevi di posizionare il segmento nel verso corretto.

EL TEJIDO TODDTEX ES LO QUE HACE QUE LAS TIENDAS BIBLER FUNCIONEN El ToddTex es completamente impermeable y antiviento, y el tejido que más transpira entre todos los impermeables/transpirables, pues transpira mucho más que los tejidos que emplean otras marcas en sus tiendas de simple techo, al tiempo que es más impermeable. El ToddTex es un una lámina de politetrafluoretileno (PTFE), formada por una fina capa de Teflon® estirado, laminada a un tejido exterior antidesgarro ya un tejido interior de poliester y tacto de pelillo. La capa exterior la forma un nylon antidesgarro de 30 deniers y alta tenacidad, con un tramado simétrico de 132 x 132 hilos, y pesa 33 gramos por metro cuadrado. Ese nylon de alta tenacidad resiste a la degradación por luz UV y lleva un acabado DWR (repelente duradero al agua) para evitar que la superficie se empape. La capa interior de ToddTex en un forro Nexus® de pelillo que absorbe el agua tan deprisa como el papel de cocina. Esto hace que la humedad se disperse por todo el interior de la tienda para que pueda evaporarse rápidamente a través de la membrana PTFE.

No quites el arco para guardarla. Enrolla el arco y mételo en la funda de transporte, y luego mete el resto de la funda de vivac, o enrolla la funda de vivac desde los pies y luego enrosca el arco alrededor de ella. Evita las dobleces fuertes en el alambre.

USO, CUIDADOS Y MANTENIMIENTO ANCLAJE Clava siempre tu tienda al suelo en todos los puntos de anclaje que tiene. Meter todas las clavijas no debe considerarse como algo optativo. SÍ, un viento ligero se puede llevar tu tienda volando. Todas nuestras tiendas incluyen clavijas y vientos. Deben utilizarse los bucles de cinta que hay cosidos en las costuras por encima de los puntos de anclaje del suelo para asegurar la resistencia y estabilidad de la tienda (especialmente con vientos fuertes de costado).

CONDICIONES DE NIEVE Ten muchísimo cuidado cuando palees nieve alrededor de la tienda. Una pala puede rasgar el tejido con suma facilidad. JAMÁS sacudas la nieve de tu funda de vivac con un objeto duro como palos, palas, piolets, etc. Cómo montar el hule opcional para el suelo Hay disponibles hules opcionales a medida para todas las tiendas Bibler. El perímetro de esos hules lleva ollaos reforzados que pueden usarse para unir dicho hule a las cintas que hay en las tiendas para las clavijas y dejarlo así bien fijo debajo de la misma. Ata un trocido de cuerda al ollao de cada esquina del hule. Pasa esa cuerda sobre la cinta de las esquinas de la tienda cuando metas las clavijas. El hule también puede usarse como toldo, colgándolo o anclándolo de sus ollaos.

CUIDADOS Y LIMPIEZA Las tiendas y las fundas de vivac deben guardarse secas. Guardarlas húmedas o mojadas hará que les salga moho, lo que producirá olores y hará que el tejido se deteriore y cale. El moho también ataca al tejido de nylon y a las

partes que llevan recubrimiento de uretano, lo que disminuye su resistencia y hace que acabe rompiéndose. Si sospechas que la tienda puede tener moho, actúa de inmediato. Lavarla con el limpiador McNett MiraZyme™ suele detener y eliminar casos ligeros de moho. Si tiene mucho moho, éste no se quitará lavando. La garantía no cubre los daños por moho. Quienes vivan en climas húmedos deberían lavar la tienda con MiraZyme una vez cada dos años, presente o no síntomas de moho. No trates de limpiar tu tienda en seco o en lavadora. Si está un poco sucia, el suelo y la parte exterior del techo se puede limpiar con una esponja y agua templada. Jamás uses detergentes o jabones líquidos del tipo que sean, pues pueden hacer que el tejido pierda su impermeabilidad. El ToddTex es un laminado PTFE de tres capas. Al igual que tejidos similares, es importante evitar que se dañe la película de PTFE. Preocúpate de mantener tu tienda limpia y lejos de aceites, grasas y disolventes, incluidas las cremas para el sol y las lociones antimosquitos, y la tienda te dará muchos años de servicio. Para proteger el tejido, elimina toda la suciedad y las migas, pajitas, etc, que puedan quedar dentro, antes de guardar la tienda. Para lavar: Si resulta imprescindible lavar la tienda entera, evita usar agua caliente, lejía, líquido para lavaplatos o cualquier otro detergente o jabón líquido. Lávala a mano en la bañera usando sólo agua tibia y MiraZyme, de McNett™ Corp. Este producto limpia, eliminina olores y ayuda a quitar el moho. Puedes pedirlo por correo a través de Black Diamond. Comprueba que tu tienda está totalmente seca antes de guardarla. Esto puede llevar 24 horas o más. NO ROCÍES O LAVES TU TIENDA CON NINGÚN IMPERMEABILIZANTE NI PRODUCTO DE LIMPIEZA DISTINTO A LOS RECOMENDADOS POR BIBLER TENTS. Usar cualquier otro producto puede anular tu garantía.

CREMALLERAS Las cremalleras requieren mantenimiento, sobre todo si se acampa en lugares arenosos o sucios. La principal causa de que fallen las cremalleras son la arena y la suciedad. Si se ensucian, aclara la tienda con una manguera y aplica el chorro a presión sobre las cremalleras para eliminar la suciedad. Aplicar un lubricante para cremalleras, como McNett ZipCare™ contribuirá a alargar la vida de tus cremalleras. Si aún así los cursores no corren bien, es importante actuar cuanto antes. A menudo puede arreglarse

con tan solo cambiar los cursores, lo que deja la cremallera casi como nueva por muy poco dinero. Si fuerzas cursores gastados, dañarás la cremallera y la reparación será mucho más cara.

VARILLAS Nuestra varillas ligeras de aluminio, unidas por dentro con cordón elástico, son increíblemente resistentes, pero no indestructibles. Si se usan como se recomienda, no se romperán. El acabado anodizado ayuda a protegerlas contra la corrosión, pero aún así, antes de guardarlas con la tienda hay que asegurarse de que están bien secas. Cuando montes la tienda, es muy importante que los segmentos de las varillas se empalmen bien. Si los casquillos no encajan por completo, la varilla se romperá cuando se flexe. El cordón elástico debe ser fuerte y tensar de manera que los segmentos queden unidos con firmeza. El cordón elástico pierde algo de elasticidad cuando está húmedo o frío. También se da de sí con el tiempo y debe ajustarse cuando ya no tensa. El cordón elástico de las varillas se puede regular, por eso no ponemos topes en la mayoría de nuestras varillas. (Para varillas con tope, usa unos alicates para quitar el tope de la punta de la varilla. Los topes van encajados). Cómo hacerlo: Para tensar el cordón, necesitarás unos alicates finos, un par de tijeras y un alicate de mordaza (u otra persona). Empalma la varilla a su longitud completa. Mira por uno de sus extremos y deberás ver el extremo del cordón elástico, tal vez 1 cm metido dentro de la varilla. Píllalo con los alicates. Quizá necesites engancharlo con unos alicates de punta fina para poder tirar de él, o si no con un lápiz afilado o un ganchito. (Si el cordón no queda al alcance en ningún extremo, quita el último segmento de alguno de los dos lados. Tira del cordón con fuerza y tendrás al menos treinta centímetros de cordón flojo que podrás empujar por dentro de la varilla que has desempalmado para que su extremo salga por la punta. No dejes escapar el cordón. El cordón se sujeta por un nudo que hace tope contra el casquillo desde dentro de la varilla. Tira del cordón hacia afuera hasta que aparezca el nudo. Tira un poco más hasta lograr un poco más de la tensión con la que quieres que se quede el cordón. Haz el mismo tipo de nudo y empújalo para meterlo en la varilla. Pliega la varilla. ¿Funciona esa longitud? Si ha quedado demasiado tenso el cordón, resultará difícil plegar la varilla. Si ha quedado demasiado flojo, las varillas no se empalmarán bien. Ajusta la longitud desplazando el nudo

lo necesario. Cuando estés satisfecho, corta el cordón sobrante para que quede enrasado con el extremo de la varilla.

MANTENIMIENTO DE LAS VARILLAS Las varillas deben inspeccionarse periódicamente. Aunque es normal que sus segmentos tomen un poco de forma, los dobleces o desvíos grandes deben considerarse preocupantes. Vigila sobre todo que no haya casquillos doblados. Los segmentos doblados deben reemplazarse. Para reemplazar segmentos de varilla, mide la longitud del tramo anodizado (negro) de la varilla y fíjate en si tu varilla lleva casquillo en un extremo o no. Pide varillas de repuesto por correo a Black Diamond. Suelta el cordón elástico y sustituye los segmentos. Comprueba que pones los segmentos por su orden y con la orientación correcta.
