He is constantly inventing and redesigning ideas and a couple of his inventions have even been bought by Google. This Latino problem-solver is proving that ingenuity and technology combined make for amazing projects that benefit a great amount of people globally. Timothy Campos Timothy, a Denver-born Dominican-American, is the one in charge of Facebook’s (FB) productivity. As FB’s CIO, he focuses greatly on the performance of the business. Timothy has a background in electrical engineering and computer science. The online social networking company provides Timothy with plenty of space to innovate and showcase his leadership skills. As a Latino, Timothy admires the fact that FB is very inclusive and has a knack for helping the community as well. Pedro Torres Picón Pedro came from Venezuela to New York, and in 2010 he founded a fund venture called Quotidian Ventures and has made investments in over 60 tech companies. The main idea behind the fund is to help young entrepreneurs turn their tech ideas into reality. Even though Pedro’s background is in Banking and Finance, he managed to merge this with his skills in technology. Pedro enjoys adding value to young companies and plans on doing this for a while. Vanessa Pestritto Vanessa is the program director of a firm called New York Angels, which finds investors for startups in search of funding. Her strengths are in improving processes as well as developing businesses. This Mexican-American also defines herself as a risk-taker and has wandered into many different hobbies and interests, like yoga, blogging, and even improving her Spanish. She is also in charge of finding new tech tools to help her team work more effectively. And there you have it; four Latino leaders who are leaving their mark on the technology world. This is just a sneak peek into the talent that emerges from the Hispanic community.
