Dear Hempstead Middle School Parents, It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter to introduce myself to you as the newly appointed principal of Hempstead Middle School. As your principal, I look forward each day to strengthening the relationships that I have begun building with all of our wonderful students, families and talented staff. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Hempstead Middle School and working with you to ensure your child's success. I bring a broad range of experiences in education to my role as principal of our school. My career in education started in Dallas, Texas, and due to my husband’s military career, I have served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles across the United States over the past 14 years. Some of the positions I have held include working as a classroom educator, a PE teacher/coach, an athletic director, a Literacy Coach, and a school administrator for multiple school districts. I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of Hempstead in this year and in the years to come. I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students. The HMS family will continue our commitment to helping all children develop their intellectual capacity, academic skills, and social competence so that they will be prepared to effectively negotiate the demands associated with living in an ever-changing 21st century. At Hempstead Middle School, we will strive to make the learning process a positive and rewarding experience while maintaining a desire to develop a generation of inquisitive young people who will become lifelong learners in their various pursuits of excellence. It is our aim to instill within each student the essential principles of pride, respect, and responsibility so that they will become productive and contributing members of our increasingly global society. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to working with each of you, because together, we will continue to move Hempstead Middle School and its students through a positive present and toward a strong future. Estimados Padres de estudiantes en la Escuela Intermedia Hempstead (HMS por sus siglas en inglés): Con gran orgullo y emoción escribo esta carta para presentarme como la nueva directora de la Escuela Intermedia Hempstead (HMS). Como su directora, espero con ansias cada día fortalecer las relaciones que he comenzado a establecer con todos nuestros maravillosos estudiantes, familias y personal talentoso. Estoy emocionada y ansiosa por aplicar mis habilidades como líder educativa en la Escuela Intermedia Hempstead y trabajar con ustedes para asegurar el éxito de su hijo/a. Tengo una amplia gama de experiencias en educación que voy a aplicar en mi puesto de directora de nuestra escuela. Mi carrera en educación comenzó en Dallas, Texas, y debido a la carrera militar de mi esposo, he desempeñado diversos cargos de liderazgo docente y educativo en los Estados Unidos durante los últimos 14 años. Algunos de los puestos que he ocupado incluyen trabajar como maestra en el salon, profesora / entrenadora de educación física, directora de atletismo, entrenadora de alfabetización y administradora escolar para varios distritos escolares. Veo la educación como un proceso que dura toda la vida y espero seguir aprendiendo mucho sobre las características únicas de Hempstead en este año y en los próximos. Estoy emocionada de aportar mi experiencia, mi apertura al aprendizaje y mi enfoque centrado en los niños para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes.
