Bus Riders – Rules and Regulations The following rules have been established by the Waterford School District’s Board of Trustees. It is very important for each rider to be familiar with and understand each rule. Please review the rules with your child. 1. Once a child boards the bus they must remain on the bus until arriving at school or to their assigned bus stop. 2. Only when a child has a signed note from his/her parent/guardian will the drop off location be changed. This note must be given to the bus driver. Parent signature and contact number should be included in the note. 3. Kindergarten students must be met by an adult unless other arrangements have been made in writing. Students that are not met at the stop or students that are unsure of their way home will be returned to school. 4. Students will be escorted across the street by the bus driver at pickup/drop off points. Please wait for the driver to activate the red light system and then the driver will assist the students across the street. 5. Students will conduct themselves in a safe and orderly fashion. Any objectionable behavior such as spitting or foul language will not be tolerated. 6. Students will not put arms, hands or any other items out of the window. Students must remain in their seats at all times, facing forward, with their feet on the floor. 7. Food, including candy, gum, seeds, is not permitted on the bus. Plain clear water is acceptable as long as the student is able to keep the container to themselves. 8. Loud talking, yelling or unnecessary noises are not permitted. 9. Glass containers, animals and large bulky items are not allowed on the bus. 10. Fighting on the bus will result in automatic denial of bus privileges for three days. If a student breaks the rules the driver may give him/her a citation which must be signed by the principal and the parent/guardian. A child may lose his/her bus privilege for repeatedly breaking the rules. Some behavior may be deemed so egregious that the student will be removed immediately. The consequences for repeated offenses are:

Restricted from the bus three (3) days

3rd Citation

Restricted from the bus five (5) days

4th Citation

Permanent restriction from the bus

Los pasajeros de autobús - Reglas y Reglamentos Las siguientes reglas han sido establecidas por la Mesa Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Waterford. Es muy importante que cada piloto esté familiarizado con y entender cada regla. Por favor revise las reglas con su hijo. 1. Una vez que se sube a un autobús en el que el niño debe permanecer en el autobús hasta llegar a la escuela o a la parada asignada. 2. Sólo cuando un niño tiene una nota firmada por su padre / madre / tutor se cambiará el lugar de devolución. Esta nota debe entregarse al conductor del autobús. Firma de los padres y número de contacto deben ser incluidos en la nota. 3. Los estudiantes de Kindergarten deben ser recibidos por un adulto a menos que otros arreglos se han hecho por escrito. Los estudiantes que no se reciban en la parada o estudiantes que no están seguros de su camino a casa serán devueltos a la escuela. 4. Los estudiantes serán acompañados a cruzar la calle por el conductor del autobús en recogida / entrega puntos. Por favor, espere a que el conductor active el sistema de luz roja y luego el conductor ayudará a los estudiantes a través de la calle. 5. Los estudiantes se comportaran de una manera segura y ordenada. Cualquier comportamiento inaceptable, como escupir o lenguaje obsceno no será tolerado. 6. Los estudiantes no pondrán los brazos, manos o cualquier otro objeto fuera de la ventana. Los estudiantes deben permanecer en sus asientos en todo momento, de frente, con los pies en el suelo. 7. Alimentos, incluidos los caramelos, chicles, semillas, no está permitido en el autobús. El agua pura claro es aceptable siempre y cuando el estudiante es capaz de mantener el envase a sí mismos. 8. Hablar en voz alta, gritando o innecesarios ruidos no se permite. 9. Los envases de vidrio, animales y artículos de gran tamaño no son permitidos en el autobús. 10. Lucha en el autobús dará lugar a la denegación automática de los privilegios del autobús por tres días. Si un estudiante quiebra las reglas del conductor puede dar a él / ella una nota que debe ser firmado por el director y los padres / tutores. Un niño puede perder su privilegio de usar el autobús por romper en varias ocasiones las reglas. Alguna conducta puede ser considerada tan atroz que el estudiante será removido inmediatamente. Las consecuencias para ofensas repetidas son: Primera Nota Verbal advertencia por el director Segunda Nota restringido del autobuses por tres (3) días Tercera Nota restringido del autobuses por cinco (5) días Cuarta Nota restricción permanente del autobús
