1

It is the next meeting of the disciples with the Resurrected Lord. As usual, this meeting is confirmed by Jesus himself who shows them his glorious wounds. Jesus patiently explains to his disciples what happen to Him according to the prophets, especially regarding the paschal events: His martyrdom and death which brings to the people salvation; that means freedom from sins. The resurrection become the key to understand this salvation and to begin the mission of the apostles in order to call everyone to repentance: “Thus is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things”. Beforehand, he enlightened their minds, to make them understand all what the prophets told about him in order to make them firm in faith and ready to the divine work in the world, the mission they have been called for. They were witnesses of everything Jesus has done before and after the resurrection. The testimony of their lives following the teaching of Jesus is the most important factor of their mission because it shows the living truth they proclaim. Since then on the salvation is at hand to everyone who believes in Jesus’ power and follows in his footsteps, as was the case of the apostles. We know from history, almost all the apostles gave their lives for Jesus’ mission. Usually one can give their life for the truth and never for made-up stories, nor for legend. This is also valid for us: “The way we may be sure that we know Jesus, St John teaches us today, is to keep his commandments. Those who say, ‘I know him’, but do not keep his commandments are liars, and the truth is not in them. But whoever keeps his word, the love of God is truly perfected in him”. According to Peter, the way to put into action this love starts with penance and conversion. We read in today catechesis: “Now I know, brothers, that you acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did, but God has thus brought to fulfillment what he had announced beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer. Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away”. After that we can go perfected in the love of God. El siguiente encuentro del Señor Resucitado con sus discípulos nos da un importante mensaje: tenemos contar en nustra fe en Cristo también con el testimonio de los apóstoles. Exactamente este testimonio de los discípulos quien han dado su vida por la verdad sobre la resurrección de su Maestro es uno de los mejores argumentos que apoyan nuestra fe. A este testimonio de vivir los mandamientos de Dios en el espiritu de Jesucristo nos llama hoy St. Juan.

Joseph Vadakkel, whose mission is spreading the glory of God upon His presence in the Most Holy Sacrament related with the prayer of healing. I invite everyone to a special worship of God before the Holy Host led by Fr. Vadakkel, on Saturday, April 21, following the Mass 4:30 PM. 1st Annual SWS Trivia Night St. William School presents the 1st Annual SWS Trivia Night on Saturday April 28th. Doors open at 6pm, Trivia start at 7pm. Join us for a fun night to raise funds for the school and reduce the debt. Buy tickets for an entire team, $150 for a table (ten person maximum per table). Or register as an individual for $15 and we'll mix/match you with a team.Participants must be 21 years of age and over. We will provide pizza, but feel free to join in our potluck and bring an appetzier, snack or dessert to share. Trivia night is BYOB, so bring your own drink. Create a theme. Feeling inspired? Create a catchy name for your team and a theme for your table! Decorate and dress accordingly and the most creative theme wins a priza! Doors will open at 6 pm so that teams can arrive and set up their tables prior to the event. Trivia Starts at 7 pm. There will be a cash prize for the 1st Place Winning Trivia Team. Teams will work together to answer 10 rounds of 10 pre-determined questions (100 questions total) from a variety of topics. We'll have 50/50 raffles, Pluck a Duck Game, Basket Raffles and play some Heads-or-Tails.

To everyone who attended/supported the "Blue and White Gala." Chef Danny Vaccaro prepared a delicious meal and Matthew Klich (Clik Entertainment) provided us with great DJ entertainment. This event brought together school families, parishioners, alumni, and friends. The Gala was a huge success!! We raised a little over $7000 which will help in reducing our debt. Thanks again for helping us make this a successful and fun event. May God Bless You!
