10/17/2014 ­ Today we are practicing discussion.  What I would like you to do is read the text below.  At the marks that I’ve made, the little dots, you should underline something, write a question, or make  a comment about what you just read.  I want you to write as much as you can in the margins.      After everyone has read we’ll break up into the small groups.  Each group will read their pages again  and take more notes while reading the second time.  Then you will all have a conversation.  I want you  to try to participate.  Ask Mirelys and Genesis to translate for you as much as they can and ask your  questions or make your comments in Spanish.  Mirelys and Genesis can translate what you say, as well,  if you struggle to.      I want you to say at least two things in the discussion.  They can both be pre­written questions, if you’d  like!    Also, I want you to have at least one question written down on your paper that has something to do  with a deeper meaning.  Something like “Why do you think the old dog bothers Carlson so much?” or  “Why do you think that George is still taking care of Lennie?”      Write a question like that, one that doesn’t have a definite answer, but that you can argue with evidence  from the book and then circle it and star it so I know which question it is.    17/10/2014 ­ Hoy estamos practicando discusión. Lo que me gustaría que hicieras es leer el texto a  continuación. En las marcas que he hecho, los pequeños puntos, debe subrayar algo, escribir una  pregunta, o hacer un comentario acerca de lo que acabas de leer. Yo quiero que escribas todo lo que  pueda en los márgenes.    Después de que todos hayan leído vamos a romper para arriba en los pequeños grupos. Cada grupo va a  leer sus páginas de nuevo y tomar más notas durante la lectura de la segunda vez. Entonces todos  ustedes tendrán una conversación. Quiero que intenta participar. Pregunte Mirelys y Génesis para que  le traduzca lo más que pueda y hacer sus preguntas o hacer sus comentarios en español. Mirelys y  Génesis se puede traducir lo que dice, también, si usted lucha para.    Yo quiero que digas al menos dos cosas en la discusió . Ambos pueden ser preguntas pre ­ escritas, si  usted quisier !    Además, yo quiero que tengas al menos una pregunta por escrito en el papel que tiene algo que ver con  un significado más profundo. Algo así como "¿Por qué crees que el viejo perro molesta Carlson tanto?"  O "¿Por qué piensas que George todavía está cuidando de Lennie?"    Escribe una pregunta como esa , uno que no tiene una respuesta definitiva, pero que se puede discutir  con la evidencia del libro. Rodearla y usa una estrella, así que sé que la pregunta es.
