2. RACK INSTALLATION 2.1

ASSEMBLE RACK

2.1.1

Install top angle to upright channels. Finger tighten only.

2.1.2

Install the base angles to the vertical upright channels. Finger tighten only.

2.1.3

Stand rack upright. Square the upright channels with the base using a carpenter square. Completely tighten all bolts. See the diagram below for dimensions needed to locate the rack and the vertical cable management.

2.2

MOUNT RACK TO FLOOR

2.2.1

Securely mount the rack to the floor using the appropriate hardware based on the floor construction (concrete, raised floor, or wood).

3. HORIZONTAL CABLE MANAGEMENT INSTALLATION 3.1

ATTACH HORIZONTAL CABLE MANAGEMENT PANEL

3.2

BREAK OFF FINGERS OF VERTICAL MANAGEMENT WHERE IT MEETS THE HORIZONTAL MANAGEMENT

3.3

VERTICAL TO HORIZONTAL JUNCTION

3.3.1 Break the fingers off of the vertical panel where it meets the horizontal panel. FRONT

3.3.2 Route the cables through the strain relief brackets as shown. 3.3.3 Place snap in wire retainer between duct fingers.

BACK THREAD CABLES THROUGH THE STRAIN RELEIF BRACKET

3.3.4 Turn retainer 90°. 3.3.5 Push retainer to end of fingers until it snaps in place.

4.1

When mounting two 24 port rows of patch panels concurrently or a single 32, 48, or 64 port panel:

4.1.1

To terminate the first block, run the cable from the first Cable Management Panel slot directly to the first block.

4.1.2

Repeat steps 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 with the adjacent columns until each block is terminated. (Due to space constraints, the cable for blocks 1 and 2 should be double stacked in slot 1).

4.2

When mounting two 48 port rows of patch panels concurrently or a single 96 port panel:

4.2.1

To terminate the first block (BLOCK 25), run the cable from the first Cable Management Panel slot directly to block 25.

4.2.2

To terminate the second block (BLOCK 27), run the cable from the third cable management panel slot to block 27.

4.2.3

Repeat steps 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 for the remaining blocks in the bottom row, remembering to leave an empty slot between each terminated block.

4.2.4

To terminate the second, third, and forth row start at block 26 from slot 1. Continue with the rest of the blocks but run the cable through the even numbered slots.
