Target Sports Canada IDPA Club (C0646) Club Contacts & House Rules

House Rules 1.

Matches are run weekly as Tier One (1) Matches (Local Club Matches) every Wednesday from the first Wednesday in September until the last Wednesday in June, with the exception of the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Matches may be run in July and August if there is sufficient demand, subject to the availability of Safety Officers. Classifier matches are run when needed, subject to demand, with at least one Classifier run each year. On occasion, we may run an “outlaw” match with stages that involve elements not included in the IDPA rules (for example, shotgun or carbine or multi-gun stages).

2.

Registration (a) Matches are limited to 22 shooters including the match staff. Four spots will be reserved for Match Staff and 18 spots will be available to other shooters. (b) Registration via PractiScore will be mandatory to secure a spot; the registration link will be available from 8:00 a.m. on the ursday before each match until 4:00 p.m. on the day of the match. Walk-ins will only be allowed if there is room after registered and waitlisted shooters. (c) Anyone who registers for the match but does not show up (without having made a request to withdraw prior to registration closing) will be required to pay the match fees for the missed match before being allowed to register for a future match. (d) Registration links can be found on the PractiScore club page at https://practiscore.com/clubs/target-sports-canada-idpa. Match details will also be posted on the IDPA club page at http://members.idpa.com/Clubs/Details/2239; stage details will be published on the Sunday before the match and walk-throughs on the Tuesday before the match. (e) Safety Officers, Club Contacts, Safety Officer Instructors, and Chief Safety Officers who shoot with the Target Sports Canada team, along with our Area Coordinator and/or International Point-of-Contact, will be given priority registration before registration opens in recognition of their extra commitment to the sport.

3.

Match Staff should arrive at 6:00 p.m. to commence setting up. Shooters should arrive between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to be ready to go at 7:00 p.m. e first stage briefing will commence at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Latecomers may be admitted at the discretion of the Match Director and/or Chief Safety Officer, but are responsible for understanding the Course of Fire and will be at the bottom of the shooting order.

4.

Matches will consist of two stages. If the number of shooters is small enough that there is sufficient time remaining to run a third stage, a third stage may be run, at the discretion of the Match Director.

5.

All shooters are expected to remain until the end of the night at 9:00 p.m. and expected to help with tear down and clean up at the end of the night. Leaving after you are done shooting but before tear down and clean up are completed is bad etiquette. As part of clean up, all brass must be swept and placed in the appropriate bins (and not simply swept to the side and left on the floor).

Target Sports Canada IDPA Club (C0646) Club Contacts & House Rules 6.

All shooters must follow the rules in the current IDPA Rule Book (currently v. 2017.2, effective 1 January 2017), the current Match Administration Guide (currently v. MA22017 V6, effective 16 May 2017), and the current Match Director/Chief Safety Officer Handbook (v. 2017.3, effective 2017).

7.

All shooters must also follow all posted Target Sports Canada/Calibre Shooting Association rules.

8.

All shooters must have one or more of the following holster qualifications prior to participating: (a) IDPA New Shooter Orientation course or the equivalent; (b) Black Badge; (c) Target Sports Canada club-level holster course; or (d) Law Enforcement/Military.

9.

All shooters must be a current IDPA member in good standing unless shooting one of their first three matches.

10. All shooters must be current members of the Calibre Shooting Association at Target Sports Canada (either Associate, Standard, Premium (VIP), or Professional), or be current Law Enforcement or Military, or be an employee of Target Sports Canada. Associate Members are reminded that they still must pay $35.00 for their weekday access pass prior to shooting. 11. We operate on a “cold range” model. Guns must be unloaded with the magazine well empty (slide may be forward or the cylinder closed) at all times except while actually shooting a Course of Fire under the supervision of a Safety Officer. Unless shooting, a Course of Fire under the supervision of a Safety Officer, guns must remain holstered or on a designated safe table. Guns may only be handled at the designated safe table or while under the supervision of a Safety Officer. 12. Guns may be uncased and holstered in Classroom B (at the safe table at the front of the classroom) or in Range B (if a safe table is set up on the range). No ammunition is allowed on the safe tables. As an exception to the normal Target Sports Canada rules, ammunition may be handled in Classroom B (e.g. to load magazines, or to place magazines on one’s person), but not at the safe tables. 13. All shooters except for the staff running the stage, the shooter who just shot (and is being scored), or the shooter who is about to be shooting must help with patching targets and resetting props as required. No target is to be patched until the SO team has scored all targets for that stage and confirmed there is no dispute as to scoring from the shooter. 14. Match Staff: (a)

e most senior Safety Officer who meets the qualifications (certified as SO in good standing with IDPA and have been certified as an IDPA SO for a minimum of two years; previously served as an SO in at least two IDPA matches; shot at least six IDPA matches; current IDPA member in good standing, have been an IDPA member for at least six months, and never had membership revoked; at least 21 years of age and be able to lawfully possess a firearm under the laws of Canada) shall serve as Match Director.

Target Sports Canada IDPA Club (C0646) Club Contacts & House Rules (b) If possible, the second most senior Safety Officer who meets the qualifications (have been certified as an IDPA SO for a minimum of two years, previously served as an SO in at least two IDPA matches, shot at least six IDPA matches, current IDPA member in good standing, have been an IDPA member for at least six months, and never had membership revoked; at least 21 years of age and be able to lawfully possess a firearm under the laws of Canada) shall serve as Chief Safety Officer. If no one else meets the qualifications, the Match Director shall also be the Chief Safety Officer. (c) Each stage shall be run by two Safety Officers. e Match Director and/or the Chief Safety Officer may serve as Safety Officer or may leave it to the other Safety Officers. Each Primary Safety Officer must be a certified IDPA SO. Scorekeeper Safety Officers should be a certified IDPA SO where possible. Where this is not possible, a shooter who (i) has shot at least six IDPA matches; (ii) is a current IDPA member in good standing, has been an IDPA member for at least six months, and never had membership revoked; and (iii) is at least 21 years of age and is able to lawfully possess a firearm under the laws of Canada, may be appointed Scorekeeper Safety Officer. 15. Fees: (a) For all shooters, the match fee is $4.00 payable to the Match Director. is money goes into our IDPA fund to purchase and maintain equipment, props, targets, supplies, etc. Additional donations of money or materiel is always appreciated. (b) For those shooters who are Associate Members of the Calibre Shooting Association at Target Sports Canada, they must also pay $35.00 to Target Sports Canada for their weekday access pass. (c) For those shooters who are not members of the Calibre Shooting Association at Target Sports Canada or employees of Target Sports Canada (i.e. current Law Enforcement or Military), there is an additional fee of $20.00 payable to Target Sports Canada. ese shooters are also required to sign the Policy and Procedure Acknowledgement and Release, Waiver, and Indemnity Agreement for Target Sports Canada and the Calibre Shooting Association. 16. All shooters must have current liability insurance either by being a member of Target Sports Canada/Calibre Shooting Association, a member of the Canadian Shooting Sports Association or a full member of the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights, or a full member of Canada’s National Firearms Association with the added liability insurance option (membership in the CCFR or NFA through a club only covers shooters at that club and is not adequate). 17. Shooters who do not participate in at least one match at Target Sports Canada between September and June will be removed from the mailing list. is is not to say you cannot come out and shoot (and be re-added to the list), we just don’t want a large e-mail list with a number of people on it who are not participating. 18. Shooters who require a classifier will be scheduled with those registered in an upcoming sanctioned match getting first priority, then those who need their first classifier, then those who need to renew their classifiers, and finally those who need a classifier in a different Division. Anyone who confirms their availability for a classifier slot and does not attend will be bumped to the bottom of the list. All shooters scheduled for a classifier on a given evening Current as of Tuesday, 15 August 2017 16:45:00
