Depending on model number, the dimmer may include a Lutron Fassada wallplate. If so, please remove the front piece of the wallplate from the adapter before installing. This will expose dimmer mounting holes and prevent wallplate damage while installing dimmer.

3-Way Wiring
Wiring the Smart Dimmer (FA-600M): • Connect the green Smart Dimmer ground wire to the bare copper or green ground wire in the wallbox (see Important Note 3).

• Connect the black Smart Dimmer wire (labeled) to the tagged wire removed from the switch in Step 3.

Wiring the Accessory Dimmer (FA-AD): • Connect the green Accessory Dimmer ground wire to the bare copper or green ground wire in the wallbox (see Important Note 3). • Connect the red Accessory Dimmer wire (labeled) to the tagged wire removed from the switch in Step 3. • Connect the blue Accessory Dimmer wire to the same color wire as the blue Smart Dimmer wire is connected to, noted above. • Connect the black Accessory Dimmer wire to the remaining wire removed from the switch.
Backwired: Insert screwdriver. Pull wire out.
Locked-in Preset - Tap 4 times quickly to set the current light level as the “Locked-in” preset (the LEDs will blink twice indicating the preset was locked). When the dimmer is turned ON via this button it will always go to this “Locked-in” light level rather than the previous light level. To unlock the preset, tap the button 4 times quickly (the LEDs will blink three times indicating the preset was unlocked).
ON Low Press once to turn your lights ON to lowest level when the dimmer is OFF.
Turning ON power. • Turn power ON at circuit breaker (or replace fuse).
Troubleshooting Symptom

Light does not turn ON or no LEDs turn ON.

Light turns ON and Smart Dimmer works, but Accessory Dimmer does not work.

Advanced Features activate delayed fade to OFF. As tap button is held, LEDs will begin to flash. The first flashing LED represents a 10 second fade to OFF. Each additional flashing LED represents 15 seconds of delay before dimmer fades to OFF (up to 60 seconds).

IMPORTANT NOTICE: FASS - Front Accessible Service Switch To replace bulb, power may be conveniently removed by pulling the FASS switch out on the Smart Dimmer or the Accessory Dimmer. For any procedure other than routine lamp replacement, power must be disconnected at the main electrical panel.

When installing more than one control in the same wallbox, it may be necessary to remove all inner side sections prior to wiring (see below). Using pliers, bend side section up and down until it breaks off. Repeat for each side section to be removed. Removal of Dimmer side sections reduces maximum load capacity. Caution: To avoid overheating and possible damage to other equipment, do not use to control receptacles, fluorescent lighting fixtures, motor-operated or transformer-supplied appliances. 2. Install in accordance with all national and local electrical codes. 3. When no “grounding means” exist within the wallbox then the NEC® 2002, Article 404.9 allows a dimmer without a grounding connection to be installed as a replacement, as long as a plastic, noncombustible wallplate is used. For this type of installation, cap or remove the green ground wire on the dimmer and use an appropriate wallplate such as Lutron’s FassadaTM series wallplates. 4. Do not paint Smart Dimmers (FA-600M) or Accessory Dimmers (FA-AD). 5. Faedra Smart Dimmers (FA-600M) are NOT compatible with standard 3-way switches. Use only with the Faedra Accessory Dimmer (FA-AD). 6. Do not use where total lamp wattage is less than 40 W or greater than 600 W. 7. Operate between 32 °F (0 °C) and 104 °F (40 °C). 8. It is normal for Smart Dimmer to feel warm to the touch during operation. 9. Recommended minimum wallbox depth is 2 1/2" (64 mm). 10. Maximum wire length between the Smart Dimmer (FA-600M) and the Accessory Dimmer (FA-AD) is 250 feet. 11. Clean dimmer with a soft damp cloth only. Do not use any chemical cleaners.

Este producto reemplaza a dos interruptores que controlan la misma luz o luces. Para atenuar la luz desde más de dos ubicaciones se requieren Atenuadores Accesorios FaedraTM (máximo: 9).

Reconecte la energía. • Reconecte la energía el corta circuito (ó reinstale el fusible).
Cableado del Atenuador Accesorio: (FA-AD): • Conecte el cable verde (de tierra) del Atenuador Accesorio al cable de cobre desnudo o verde (de tierra) de la caja de embutir (vea Nota Importante 3). • Conecte el cable rojo del Atenuador Accesorio (etiquetado) al cable marcado que fué removido del interruptor en el Paso 3. • Conecte el cable azul del Atenuador Accesorio al cable del mismo color, como en el caso del cable azul del Atenuador Inteligente que vimos mas arriba.
Desvanecimiento hasta apagado Presione y sujete para activar el desvanecimiento hasta el apagado. Mientras se sujeta el botón de interrupción las lámparas LED comienzan a parpadear. La primera lámpara LED parpadeante representa un desvanecimiento de 10 segundos hasta el apagado. Cada lámpara LED parpadeante adicional representa un incremento de 15 segundos al periodo de desvanecimiento a apagado (hasta 60 segundos).
Configuración almacenada - Tóquelo rápidamente 4 veces para establecer el nivel de luz actual como la configuración "almacenada" (las lámparas LED parpadean dos veces indicando que la configuración está almacenada). Al encender el atenuador mediante este botón se usa siempre el nivel de luz "almacenado" en lugar del nivel de luz previo. Para liberar la configuración almacenada, toque el interruptor 4 veces rápidamente (las lámparas LED parpadean tres veces indicando que la configuración se liberó).

FASS – Interruptor para Servicio con Acceso Frontal (Front Accessible Service Switch) – Para reemplazar un bombillo, se puede fácilmente desconectar la energía jalando el interruptor FASS hacia fuera en el atenuador inteligente o en el atenuador accesorio. Instálelo de acuerdo con todos los códigos eléctricos nacionales y locales. 3. Si en la caja de embutir no hay acceso a una conexión de tierra, la norma NEC® 2002, Artículo 404-9 permite instalar como reemplazo un atenuador sin conexión a tierra, en tanto se utilice una placa de pared de plástico no combustible. Para este tipo de instalación, aísle o elimine el conductor verde de tierra del atenuador y utilice una placa de pared adecuada tal como la FassadaTM de Lutron. 4. No pinte los Atenuadores Inteligentes (FA-600M) ni los Atenuadores Accesorios (FA-AD). 5. Los Atenuadores Inteligentes Faedra (FA-600M) no son compatibles con interruptores normales de 3 vías; sólo deben usarse con Atenuadores Accesorios Faedra (FA-AD). 6.
