We sing Happy Birthday to students before school at Flag Ceremony on their birthday’s. Parents are welcome to join us for this.

Our teachers are happy to allow birthday treats but please make sure they are here before lunch (by 11:30). Most teachers serve birthday treats with lunch.

HORARIO DIARIO

Regular daily attendance is required of all students by the school laws of Washington. An attendance record is kept for each student and all absences are recorded. Official excuses for absences are illness, doctor and dental appointments, religious observance requested by a parent, a school activity, and family emergencies. When a student returns to school after an absence, they must present a written excuse with the reason for the absence to the teacher or office, or the parent may call the office at 265-4229. If we do not receive the excuse, our automated system will contact you. By law, after 5 unexcused absences in a month or 10 unexcused absences for the year, we are required to file a petition in juvenile court. If your child is unable to come for any reason, we need to have the parent notify the school. Your help is greatly appreciated.

ATTENDANCE

Regular asistencia diaria se requiere de todos los estudiantes por las leyes de la escuela de Washington. Se mantiene un registro de asistencia para cada estudiate y se registra todas las ausencias. Oficial las excusas por las ausencias son enfermedad, médico y dentales citas, observancia religiosa solicitada por los padres, una actividad escolar y emergencias familiares. Cuando un estudiante vuelve a la escuela después de una ausencia, deben presentar una excusa por escrito con el motivo de la ausencia a la maestra o la oficina, o los padres pueden llamar a la oficina en 265-4229. Si no recibimos la excusa, nosotros le contactaremos. Por ley, después de 5 ausencias en un mes o 10 ausencias por año, estamos ahora obligados a to entablar una petición en la corte para menores. Personal items brought to school are the responsibility of the individual. The school can take no responsibility for lost or damaged items brought from home.

If your child brings an electronic device to school it must be turned off during the school day and kept in their backpack. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen electronics or equipment.

PERSONAL ITEMS

CPT (Caring Parents & Teachers)

Students will dress appropriately so that they are not a distraction or disruption to the educational process. Students must adhere to the following guidelines regarding school dress. 1.Gang-related clothes/fads (such as baggy pants, or numerous other gangrelated/gang-style clothing and symbols) are not allowed. 2.Slogans or advertising on clothing, which by their controversial or obscene nature disrupt the educational setting, are prohibited. 3.For PE and active recess games, students must wear shoes, such as tennis shoes. 4.Shirts/blouses must conceal the student’s midriff. Tank tops or other tops that are low cut in the neck or arms are not allowed. No spaghetti strap tops. 5.“Heelies” or shoes with wheels are a safety hazard and damage our floors. No wheeled shoes are allowed while on school property. 6.All shorts and skirts must be fingertip length or longer. 7. Hats are only to be worn outside of the building unless your teacher allows them in the classroom. Students should be wearing clothes that they expect to wear all day. Students may be asked to change clothing if it is inappropriate. If a student is dressed inappropriately parents will be contacted. A note to parents will be sent by mail if they cannot be reached by phone.

DRESS CODE

Los estudiantes vestirán apropiadamente para que no sean una distracción o interrumpir el proceso educativo. Los estudiantes deben respetar las siguientes pautas en cuanto a vestimenta escolar.
