“No One Has The Right To Rain On Your Dreams” Our dream is to graduate from college with really good grades and be productive members of our global community. By that we mean to graduate from P.S. 145 and the other schools with good grades. Martin Luther King’s words, ‘’No person has the right to rain on your dreams,” help us because they show us that no person has the right to ruin our dreams. Martin Luther King Jr. example teaches us that it is not about just doing your homework, passing a test, or reading books at your level. It’s about building strength of character, showing leadership, being helpful, selfless, respectful, team worker, and trustworthy. We have to use our smartness to not let anyone rain on our dreams.
How Do Websites Make Money? Hey have you ever wondered how YouTube works? What’s YouTube you may ask? YouTube is an official international website where you can watch and upload interesting videos. YouTube was created on September 13, 2005 by Chad Hearty, Steve Chen and Jawed Kareem. According to Videopower.com over 65% of the Earth’s population watches YouTube. That’s estimated to about 4 billion people. YouTube is owned by Google. These days, YouTube is very successful. According to moneynation.com 15.46% of Google’s net worth comes from YouTube. That means $32,341,526,520 goes to Google. YouTube has generated $86.22 billion over the years, that means YouTube makes about a $54 billion profit. Now, how does it work? To upload a video it’s actually not that hard. Just keep in mind that you have to be 13 years of age or older to upload. You would have to have your parents help you if you are under 13. First you need an account. You can sign up with your email and password. Then you can shoot your video. Next, you go to YouTube.com and click on the upload icon. Then pick the video you want, edit it, give it a name and write a description. Now you must be wondering if you can make a profit from your video. Well you can’t get paid if your viewers don’t watch at least 30 seconds of the ads that pop up. There are many big you tubers (people who upload videos) such as Sports with an upcoming of 75 million subscribers. Movies still being one of the biggest channels has 45 million subscribers. These you tubers receive a lot of money from YouTube because people watch the ads. There are also many educational videos on many different subjects. There are many “How-To” videos too. All in all YouTube is a fine website where people can be themselves and share their videos. have fun and be you in YouTube. Remember to always be careful when surfing the web.
One Hour Of Code Code is like a language, a type of computer language! Do you want to learn this language? Then start reading this coded article. Mobile apps like Facebook and browsers like Google are all made up with code. Computer code is used to create web pages. A computer can only understand two distinct types of data; on and off. Would you like to see how coding works? Well you can go to www.code.org and practice coding for kids. We have different games to code such as Minecraft, Gumball, Anna and Elsa, Star Wars, and many more. Once you choose a game you will find three stations on the left is the game space, in the middle column is the toolbox, the toolbox has the commands. On the right column is the workspace, the workspace is where you drag your commands to make things happen. It’s not difficult but in case you’re stuck the instructions are at the top of the webpage. Coding is fun and helps you understand how computers work . Ms. Bernacet will soon be teaching us all about coding! Stay tuned!
Old Legends, New Year! In ancient times, Chinese people believed in many legends. The most believed ones are the ones about the Chinese New Year. The two main ones are “Why are red envelopes given during this holiday? "and “How did Chinese New Year traditional celebrations started?” According to the red envelopes legend, there was a demon named Sui. On New Year’s Eve, he appears to terrify children. The legend says that if Sui would touch the children in the head, they will get a fever and become mentally unstable. One New Year’s Eve, the family would give their child 8 coins to keep him or her awake. They put the coins inside a red envelope. It was told that if Sui came to touch the head of the child, the eight coins flashed and turned into eight fairies that would scare away Sui. So, that’s how the tradition of giving red envelopes on New Year’s Eve began. The other Chinese New Year’s legend is how the Chinese New Year celebrations started. It’s said to be that a beast named Nian, who lived in the deep sea would come out on New Year’s Eve to harm people. To scare the beast away, there was an old man who would place red papers on all the doors in the village, burn bamboo, lit candles, and wear red clothes. Since then, people still in the present day celebrate the new year the same way, wearing red clothing, and placing red decorations. In conclusion, Chinese New Year’s celebrations and traditions are fascinating with a rich ancient history. “Nadie tiene derecho a llover en tus sueños” Nuestro sueño es graduarnos de la universidad con calificaciones realmente buenas y ser miembros productivos de nuestra comunidad global. Con eso queremos graduarnos de P.S. 145 y otras escuelas con buenas calificaciones. Las palabras de Martin Luther King: "Nadie tiene derecho a llover en sus sueños," nos ayuda porque nos muestra que ninguna persona tiene el derecho de arruinar nuestros sueños. El ejemplo de Martin Luther King Jr. nos enseña que no se trata sólo de hacer su tarea, aprobar una prueba o leer libros a su nivel. Se trata del desarrollo personal del estudiante, mostrando liderazgo, respeto, y ser digno de confianza. Tenemos que usar nuestra inteligencia para no dejar que nadie llueva en nuestros sueños.

Una hora de codificación ¡El código es como un lenguaje, un tipo de lenguaje informático! ¿Quieres aprender este idioma? A continuación, empieza a leer este artículo codificado. Viejas legendas, Nuevo año En la antigüedad, el pueblo chino creía en muchas leyendas. Pero en la que aún creen más hoy, son las leyendas del Año Nuevo. Las dos principales leyendas son "¿Por qué dan dinero en sobre rojos durante esta celebración? Y ¿Cómo comenzaron las celebraciones tradicionales del Año Nuevo chino?" Según la leyenda de los sobres rojos, había un demonio llamado Sui. En la víspera de Año Nuevo, se aparecía a los niños para aterrorizarlos. La leyenda dice que si Sui tocaba a los niños en la cabeza, les daría fiebre y quedaban mentalmente inestables. Una víspera de Año Nuevo, la familia le dio a su hijo 8 monedas de oro para mantenerlo despierto. Pusieron las monedas dentro de un sobre rojo. Dice la leyenda que si Sui llegaba a tocar la cabeza del niño, las ocho monedas se convertirían en ocho hadas que asustarían a Sui. Así, así es como comenzó la tradición de dar sobres rojos en la noche de Año Nuevo. La otra leyenda del Año Nuevo chino es cómo comenzaron las celebraciones del Año Nuevo chino. Se dice que una bestia llamada Nian que vive en el mar profundo sale a la noche de Noche vieja para asustar a la gente. Para asustar a la bestia, había un anciano que colocaba papeles rojos en todas las puertas del pueblo, quemaba bambú, encendía velas y vestía ropas rojas. Desde entonces, la gente todavía en el día de hoy celebra Año Nuevo de la misma manera, vistiendo ropa roja, y decorando con el color rojo.. En conclusión, las celebraciones del Año Nuevo Chino y las tradiciones son fascinante con una rica historia antigua.
