Que los participantes del taller reconozcan la cultura maya a través de sus diversas manifestaciones. For workshop participants to recognize the Mayan culture in its various manifestations.

1. Introducción a la cultura Maya: Origen y ubicación de la civilización Maya así como sus aportaciones astronómicas, matemáticas, arquitectónicas, médicas y artísticas. 2. Narración de diferentes historias mayas. 3.Construcción de un pop-up 1. Introduction to Mayan culture: Origin and location of the Mayan civilization and its contributions to astronomy, mathematics, architecture, medicine and the arts. 2. Telling of different Mayan stories. 3. Construction of a pop-up

1. Exposición sobre el origen del muralismo chicano, los representantes de este movimiento; las obras más representativas, sus motivos así como los lugares en las que se ubican. 1. Los Muralistas The Muralists
Que los participantes del taller reconozcan la cultura maya a través de sus diversas manifestaciones. Reconocer el arte mural chicano como un medio de expresión humorístico, político o identitario. De igual manera se pretende el desarrollo en técnicas de dibujo y pintura. To recognize Chicano mural art as an expression of humor, politics and identity, and to create a mural with different drawing and painting techniques. Leyendas de Quetzalcóatl Legends of Quetzalcóatl
Promover en los niños el conocimiento de la cultura totonaca y sus representaciones artísticas, en particular en lo referente al origen, significado y práctica de los voladores de Papantla. To promote to children the knowledge of the Totonaco culture and arts, specifically with regard to the origin, meaning and practice of the traditional “flyers” of Papantla.

Se va y se corre: El Árbol Trees
Despertar el interés de los niños sobre la importancia de los árboles en el medio ambiente promoviendo su respeto y cuidado. A la par, el taller pretende la extensión de su vocabulario. To create an interest among children for the importance, respect and care of trees in nature. At the same time, the workshop seeks the increase children’s vocabulary.

Que los niños conozcan qué es y cómo surgen los alebrijes. De igual manera se busca estimular su imaginación en la creación de seres fantásticos así como el reconocimiento de la mecánica en la elaboración de un alebrije mecánico. For children to get to know what alebrijes are and where they come from. In addition, to stimulate children’s imagination by creating fantastic creatures and to help them appreciate mechanics with the creation of a mechanical alebrije.

Concientizar a los padres de familia asistentes sobre la importancia de leerles a sus hijos. Inculcar el respeto, preservación y buen uso de su lengua materna: el español y mostrar a los participantes diferentes técnicas de lectura para los niños. To sensitize parents about the importance of reading to their children. To instill respect, conservation and the proper use of their native language of Spanish, and to show participants different reading techniques for children.
