The holiday breaks can be a stressful time for children and parents. This workshop will explore a variety of strategies that parents can employ to help ease the stress and help make the holiday breaks fun and enjoyable for the whole family. The group will discuss ways to use structure and routine to decrease problem behaviors, talking to family members about how to support your child's needs and ways to use priming and role play to help your child prepare for special events.

Free childcare, accommodation and interpretation services are available to families who preregister with one week’s notice.

Los días festivos pueden ser un tiempo estresante para niños y padres. Este taller explorará una diversidad de estrategias que los padres pueden utilizar para ayudar a aliviar el estrés y ayudar a que los días festivos sean divertidos y agradables para toda la familia. El grupo discutirá maneras de usar la estructura y la rutina para disminuir los problemas de conducta, como hablar con otros miembros de la familia anticipadamente sobre cómo apoyar las necesidades de los niños, y sobre la manera de usar la preparación y el juego de roles para ayudar a que el niño se prepare para los eventos especiales.
