Ringgold Elementary seeks to ensure that all children achieve a distinctive ability to learn in conjunction within an environment that is committed to provide the best educative opportunities. A set goal of partnership amongst staff, parents/guardians and stakeholders is essential to constructively align instructional practices between the school and home. This line of communication will expand the enhancement of learning opportunities for all students to achieve the goal of becoming independent learners. Ringgold Elementary values parents initial role of being their children/s first teacher; therefore, it is critical to support parents in all aspects for the betterment of children’s success with the assistance of the district’s Title I-A programs entitlement to create a school-home partnership that will promote student success. Ringgold Elementary will safeguard a 100% of parent and families involvement to obtain ample knowledge of the continuous progression of their child’s education. Grade level goals for all children in Ringgold Elementary will be distributed to parents with the expectation that all students will work toward these goals. RIO GRANDE CITY CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Ringgold Elementary Family Engagement Policy Parent Advisory Committee consists of campus parents, teachers, administrator/s and community members that are responsible to develop and align the policy in compliance to all local, state and federal guidelines. The beginning of every school year, the campus will annually form an Advisory Committee to review the Family Engagement Policy to asses or update embedded practices. III. ANNUAL TITLE I-A CAMPUS PARENT MEETINGS

Ringgold Elementary will hold an annual Title I meeting for parents to review Title I guidelines and services offered through the district. Parents will be encouraged to become involved in revising and updating the policy as necessary, and parent volunteers will be recruited for the district and campus improvement teams. The meeting will be held at a convenient time and location; notice of the meeting will be provided through written invitations to parents and via phone prerecorded voice message network titled, “school messenger.” English and Spanish translation will be available upon request. Written and verbal notifications in both languages will be sent to parents notifying them of the date and times of the meetings. Parent volunteers, and children teachers will make parent contact by phone.    

IV. SCHOOL-PARENT-STUDENT COMPACT

According to Title I-A regulations, Ringgold Elementary will develop and annually update a homeschool compact. This will explain how students, parents, and staff will share responsibility for student performance and success. TYPES OF FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

Ringgold Elementary will provide opportunities for parent engagement to become involved in their children’s education. Ringgold Elementary values both at-home contributions of parents and those that take place at the school or in the community. Reading to children at home and talking with them at family meals are as important as volunteering at school and serving on advisory committees. A high parent participation rate will be supported to attend district and campus events or trainings that will help encourage and assist parents to learn how to monitor a child’s progress, and how to work with educators to improve student achievement. Training for teachers and school personnel with the assistance of parents to implement and coordinate parent programs, and build ties between parents and the school will be promoted throughout district level and campus. Ringgold Elementary will promote district level events by publishing and sending out flyers such as free of charge literacy night trainings. As per all parents and community seeking to volunteers, they must comply with the district policy regarding State of Texas background checks safeguards the wellbeing, plus safety of children and staff.  Family engagement in school-home community partnerships help children succeed. VI. ADAPT PROGRAMS TO THE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY

Each year Ringgold Elementary will assess the needs of parents and children in the community through two base measures, including a parent survey or questionnaire, so that Title I programs can be tailored to meet those needs. Parents will be notified of these opportunities by the individual schools. Ringgold Elementary will guide parents with routine parent meetings with the extended resources that they obtain; for example, they may call the Parental Involvement Department or Ringgold Elementary to express an interest in a particular workshop or topic or to address suggestions to the program. 

VII. STAFF-PARENT COMMUNICATION

Ringgold Elementary informs parents of monthly activities and current issues through various means of communication. Communication with parents should also include a school newsletter distributed by the school at least four times a year. Notices sent home should be in both English and Spanish. Parents are encouraged to take the initiative in calling their child’s teacher or campus administrator when they have a concern. Staff should receive training on techniques to improve home-school communication. Parents may participate in this training.                

VIII. EVALUATION The district-wide Title I-A Parent Advisory Committee, which includes parents of Title I, Migrant, Bilingual, Special Needs and GT students, will participate in the process of school review and improvement. This committee will collect information in a variety of ways, including campus visits and class observations. Parents will also be asked for their input on the content and effectiveness of the Title I-A Family Engagement programs through an annual evaluation of the program. The evaluation will include an assessment of overall increases in family engagement and barriers to parental participation that still need to be overcome.  Ringgold Elementary will revise its Family Engagement Policy on the basis of this annual review.  March 2019 – April 2019 (School’s Comprehensive Needs Assessment)  April 2019 (Title I-A Family Engagement Survey)  Annual evaluation of the content and effectiveness of the parental involvement program.  Perform a needs assessment using a variety of tools. IV. Reservation of Funds If the Title I Part A allocation is $500,000 or more, then at least 1% must be set aside for implementation of the parental involvement program. Parents must be involved in deciding how these funds will be allotted for parental involvement activities. If the Title I part A allocation is less than $500,000 no “RGCCISD” is required to set aside at least 1% of its Title I funds for the purposes of parental involvement. Those funds will be divided among the Title I campuses. The campus principal will consult with the Title I Advisory Committee about allowable uses of the funds. The campus principal will then authorize the use of the funds designated for parental involvement money is required to be reserved, but the district and campus are still required to provide a parental involvement program and services. IV. Conclusion Ringgold Elementary is committed to the success of students. We will work together with parents to monitor the effectiveness of our Parental Involvement and Title I Programs and to provide excellence in education. This policy will be promoted by the principals, and staff as we seek active participation by our parents.

IV. CONVENIO ESCUELA-PADRES

Las responsabilidades de los estudiantes pueden variar de acuerdo a su grado de nivel escolar. VIII. EVALUACIÓN

El comité consejero de Título I-A a nivel Distrito, el cual incluye a padres de estudiantes de Título I, Migrantes, Bilingüe, con Necesidades Especiales y Dotados y Talentosos, participará en el proceso de revisión y mejoramiento escolar. Este comité obtendrá información de diferentes formas, incluyendo visitas a la escuela y observaciones en el salón de clases. A los padres también se les pedirá su opinión sobre el contenido y la efectividad del programa de la participación familiar bajo el Título I-A, a través de una evaluación anual de dicho programa. La evaluación incluirá una revisión completa de qué tanto se ha incrementado el involucramiento de los padres, así como también las barreras, que todavía necesitan ser superadas, para la participación familiar. La Escuela Primaria revisará su política de participación familiar sobre las bases de esta revisión anual.   

IV. Reserva de Fondos Si el título que asignación de Título I-A es de $500,000 o más, entonces al menos el 1% se debe apartar para la implementación del programa de participación de los padres. Los padres deben participar en decidir cómo se repartirán esos fondos para las actividades de participación de los padres. Si el Título de Parte I asignación es menos de $500.000 no "RGCCISD" es necesario dejar de lado al menos el 1% de su título fondos I para los efectos de la participación de los padres.
