Meal Prices: The Food and Nutritional Services is looking forward to serving the children of Plano ISD for the 2012-13 school year. Our meals provide high quality, nutritious, age appropriate foods that meet USDA requirements. Plano ISD will offer meals at the following prices for the 2012-13 school year: Elementary: Secondary:

Food and Nutritional Services follows the Food-Based Menu planning approach for breakfast and lunch. Lunch consists of five groups which are: meat/meat alternate, grains/breads, fruits, vegetables and milk. In order to receive a reimbursable meal, the minimum requirements are three items from the five groups listed above, one of which must be a half cup of a fruit or vegetable. The maximum requirements are five items from the groups listed above, one of which must be a half cup of a fruit or vegetable. Breakfast (where served) will include at least 3 choices from the five food groups, one of which must be a half cup of a fruit. If minimum requirements for a reimbursable meal are not met, á la carte prices will be charged. The Offer versus Serve menu style implementation by Plano ISD specifies that it is the student’s decision regarding which items he/she selects for breakfast and lunch. Federal regulations state students must select items and place them on their tray. A staff member may not put items on the student’s tray or insist he/she select certain food items. Staff members may assist if a student cannot reach an item. Nutritious snacks are sold for a nominal fee to students in 1st – 12th grade. The nutritional analysis for elementary and secondary lunch menus is available on the Plano ISD website at http://pisd.edu. First click on Parents and select Nutrition & Menus from the menu on the left side of the screen, then from the right side of the screen, select school menus. PayPAMS: The district has an on-line payment option. PayPAMS allows parents to make credit card payments to their child’s lunch account via the Internet. Precios de las Comidas: El Departamento de Servicios Alimenticios y de Nutrición espera el placer de servir a los alumnos del Distrito Escolar de Plano durante el 2012-13 año escolar. Nuestras comidas proveen alimentos apropiados para la edad, nutritivos y de alta calidad, que cumplen los requisitos del USDA. Alimentos y servicios nutricionales sigue el menú basado en alimentos enfoque de planificación para el desayuno y almuerzo. Almuerzo consta de cinco grupos que son: suplente de carne y carne, granos y panes, frutas, verduras y leche. Para recibir una comida reembolsable, los requisitos mínimos son tres elementos de los cinco grupos enumerados anteriormente, uno de los cuales debe ser una Copa la mitad de una fruta o verdura.
