January 2012 Dear Parents and Students: As we begin to prepare for the 2012-2013 school year, we want to make you aware of a few changes that we will be making to the schedule pick-up process. Our goal is for you to utilize online resources to complete necessary forms and obtain your class schedule. In August 2012, you will be able to update the following items using Parent Portal: 1. Emergency Form 2. Truancy Warning Notice 3. PISD Policy Guide Agreement 4. Release of Information Permission Class schedules will be available on Parent Portal as long as the items listed above have been completed. **All exact dates will be announced by the district later this spring. OMS will be open during the two official schedule pick-up days for the following purposes: 1. To turn in updated immunization records to the nurse (students without updated immunization records will not be able to obtain their schedule online) 2. To show proof of residency in the event you have moved over the summer (students without proof of residency on file will not be able to obtain their schedule online) 3. To use a computer on campus to complete the online forms 4. To purchase school supplies, spirit wear, PE and athletic clothes (links to purchase these items will also be available online) 5. To visit the student’s locker, walk his or her schedule, etc. (an orientation for incoming 6th grader students will be held prior to the first day of school for these purposes, as well) We hope you will find this system to be efficient and convenient. Enero 2012 Queridos Padres y Estudiantes: Mientras nos preparamos para el año escolar 2012-2013, queremos ponerles al tanto de ciertos cambios que habrá en el proceso de recoger los horarios. Nuestro objetivo es que utilice los recursos del internet para llenar los formularios necesarios y obtener los horarios de clases. Empezando el Agosto 2012, podrá actualizar los siguientes formularios en el Parent Portal: 1. Formulario de Emergencia 2. Aviso de Advertencia de Ausentismo 3. Acuerdo Guía de Política de PISD 4. Autorización Para dar Información Los horarios de clase estarán disponibles en el Parent Portal siempre y cuando haya llenado previamente los formularios referidos en el párrafo superior. **Las fechas exactas serán anunciadas por el distrito en la primavera. MS estará abierto durante los dos días oficiales de recoger los horarios con el siguiente propósito: 1. Para entregar la constancia de vacunas actualizadas a la enfermera (estudiantes sin record de vacunas actualizadas no podrán obtener su horario de clases en el internet) 2. Para mostrar prueba de residencia en caso que haya cambiado de domicilio en el verano (estudiantes sin prueba de residencia en el archivo no podrán obtener su horario de clases en el internet) 3. Para utilizar la computadora en la escuela para llenar los formularios en el internet. 4. Para comprar los útiles escolares, las camisas de Otto, la ropa atlética y de educación física (lugares donde comprar estos artículos también están disponibles en el internet) 5. Para visitar la taquilla del estudiante, caminar a sus salones, etc. (una orientación para los nuevos estudiantes de sexto (6) grado se llevara a cabo antes del primer día de clase también con esos propósitos) Confiamos encuentre este sistema eficiente y conveniente.
