Today we are celebrating the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary— the patroness of one of our churches. This feast reminds us we are celebrating the Month of the Holy Rosary. The Church gives us an entire month to pray and reflect on the subtle but powerful beauty of this prayer so dear to the heart of our Blessed Mother. The Rosary is a school of prayer. In his Apostolic Letter on the Rosary, Pope St. John Paul II writes: “the Rosary though clearly Marian in character, is at heart a Christocentric prayer. In the sobriety of its elements, it has all the depth of the Gospel message in its entirely, of which it can be said to be a compendium. It is an echo of the prayer of Mary, her perennial Magnificat for the work of the redemptive Incarnation which began in her virginal womb. With the Rosary, the Christian people sits at the school of Mary and is led to contemplate the beauty on the face of Christ and to experience the depths of his love. Through the Rosary the faithful receive abundant grace, as though from the very hands of the Mother of the Redeemer.” These beautiful words encourage us to pray the Rosary!! In her visits to us, Mary continually asks the same thing of us “Pray the Rosary”! There is so much to pray for— each of us have endless lists of intentions. In Guadalupe Our Lady reminded us through St. Juan Diego: “...that thing that disturbs you or afflicts you is nothing… do not fear… Am I not here, I who am your Mother?” Mary is our helper, constantly interceding for us. Here, in the parish we have a number of opportunities in this month to turn to her and pray her Rosary seeking her assistance! Each evening at 6:45PM we have a multi-lingual Rosary recited in front of the statue of Our Lady outside our Church; Rosary every Saturday morning at 7:40AM with Salesian Community and before many of our Masses on Saturday evening and Sunday! Every Monday, there is a group that recites the Rosary at 6PM in the Adoration Chapel at Nicola Place; every Wednesday night we have the “Men’s only Rosary” recited by a group of men of the parish at 8PM in the Corpus Christi Church. On October 7th the Rosary will be prayed outside the Holy Rosary Church before the 11AM Mass to celebrate the feast; also on October 7 members of the parish are participating in the Rosary Coast to Coast at 4PM at Oakland Beach in Rye. At All the Masses during the month we invite a family to take home the “Vocation Rosary” and pray with family and friends for Vocations all during the week. On Saturday, October 13, at 1PM in front of the Church we will say the Rosary, joining with all people across our country in the “American Needs Fatima” Crusade. This is the month of the Holy Rosary. Let each of us find ourselves with our Rosary in our hands each day asking Our Blessed Mother for her loving protection and guidance. Come, pray the Rosary with us! God Bless you!

W liście apostolskim dotyczącym różańca, Jan Paweł II napisał: Różaniec to serce chrześcijańskiej modlitwy. W sobotę wieczór i w niedziele. Październik to miesiąc różańca świetego. Niech każdy z nas weźmie w ręce różaniec i prosi Matkę Boską o przewodnictwo i opiekę . Z Bożym błogosławieństwem !

I have obtained from my Divine Son that all advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death. 14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ. 15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination
