1. MAGNETIC SEPARATION UNIT
The shredded material magnetic separation unit consists of an electromagnetic drum (with its own vibrating feeder), the ferrous shredded scrap conveyor belt and the non ferrous conveyor belt. All the elements are supported by a metallic structure.
1.1. CHASSIS Manufactured in electromechanically welded structural tubes and reinforced with A-42 steel plates. It has included all the supports of the vibrating feeder, the electromagnetic drum and the conveyor belts.

1.2. VIBRATING FEEDER AVZB-1100x2450
Manufactured in electromechanically welded A-42 steel plates, covered with 400 HB hardness (replaceable) anti-wear lining of high resistance to abrasion and impacts. The areas exposed to the magnetic field of the electromagnetic drum are made of manganese steel in order to avoid the vibrating feeder from being magnetized, and so preventing shredded material blockages. The vibrating feeder is placed underneath the electromagnetic drum and allows a regular feeding of the electromagnetic drum. • Length: 2.45 m (96.5’’) • Width: 1,1 m (43’’) • Power: 2 x 2.2 kW

1.3. FERROUS SEPARATION ELECTROMAGNETIC DRUM (Ø1000x1200)
To achieve an optimum quality shredded ferrous scrap it is necessary to separate the shredded material into ferrous material and non ferrous (metals) material. To fulfill this task there is an electromagnetic drum with its own vibrating feeder. The electromagnetic drum mainly consists of magnetic circuit with a strong manganese steel ribbed shell turning around it. The magnetic circuit is composed of three longitudinal poles of alternate polarity, so that the first pole, of high power and range, attracts the ferrous material to the rotating shell whose ribs transfer it up towards the second pole. The second pole, of intermediate power and range, due to its opposing polarity to the first pole makes the ferrous material start revolving around; so that releases any kind of trapped non magnetic material.
