There Is Value In Professional Services: My 11-year-old son and I recently visited the Acura dealership because my car needed a servicing. The mechanic quoted several hundred dollars for an extensive service that the car needed, and I immediately agreed to pay it.
My son has been trying to save money to buy a laptop using his allowance, and immediately commented that the car service was very expensive. He suggested that I simply do the work myself and save the money (I'm sure he was ready to suggest that I use the money that I saved to buy him the laptop that he wanted). I showed him the list of repairs they were going to do for the car, and the large garage with all of the equipment and tools. I also showed him how the mechanics wore a patch on their sleeves, showing they were trained, certified mechanics. I explained that I could probably learn to do the complete service that the mechanics were going to do -- if I were to be trained extensively. I would also have to get special tools and equipment. Assuming that I obtain all of the training and equipment, I would then have to dedicate time and money to be able to do the job. The bottom line is that I showed my son that it was actually better to pay a professional to perform the work for me. There is true value in having professional services. Although it may seem to be expensive, it's actually cheaper, easier and more effective to have a true professional perform the needed work. This same logic applies to medical, legal, dental and many other professional services where the investment made more than pays for itself. As an Attorney myself, I always work the case so that my clients derive more of an economic benefit from the services I perform, than the actual fee that my clients invest in the case. Otherwise, I simply do not take the case. I was able to teach my son a valuable lesson that many people struggle to understand. As with any other service, it is very important that you receive more of a benefit than the investment in the service itself. As always, my staff and I wish you continued success in your endeavors!

Hay valor en servicios profesionales: Mi hijo de 11 años de edad me acompaño recientemente al concesionario Acura porque mi auto necesita mantenimiento. El mecánico había citado varios cientos de dólares para un amplio servicio que necesitaba el coche, y acepté inmediatamente a pagar.
Mi hijo ha estado tratando de ahorrar dinero para comprar una computadora portátil usando su mesada e inmediatamente comentó que el servicio para el coche era muy caro. Él sugirió que simplemente haga el trabajo solo y ahorrar el dinero (estoy seguro de que estaba listo para sugerir que use el dinero que ahorré para comprarle el portátil que quería). Le mostré la lista de las reparaciones que iban a hacer para el coche y el amplio garaje con todos los equipos y herramientas. También le mostré cómo los mecánicos tienen un parche en sus mangas, mostrando que estaban entrenados, mecánicos certificados. Le expliqué que probablemente podría aprender a hacer el servicio completo que los mecánicos iban a hacer, si tuviera que ser entrenado extensivamente. También tendría que obtener equipos y herramientas especiales. Suponiendo que obtener todo el entrenamiento y equipamiento, entonces tendría que dedicar tiempo y dinero para poder hacer el trabajo. La conclusión es que le mostré a mi hijo que era mejor pagar un profesional para realizar el trabajo. Hay cierto valor en tener servicios profesionales. Aunque puede parecer costoso, es en realidad más barato, más fácil y más eficaz que un verdadero profesional haga el trabajo necesario. Esta misma lógica aplica a la médica, legal, dental y muchos otros servicios profesionales donde la inversión de más se paga por sí mismo. Como abogado, siempre trabajo el caso para que mis clientes derivan más de un beneficio económico de los servicios que realizo, que la tasa real que mis clientes invierten en el caso. De lo contrario, simplemente no tomo el caso. Era capaz de enseñar a mi hijo una valiosa lección que muchas personas se esfuerzan por entender. Como con cualquier otro servicio, es muy importante que usted reciba más de un beneficio que la inversión en el propio servicio.
