LEARN THE VALUE OF USING EXPERTS -- THE EASY WAY!! I had the unfortunate experience of re-learning an important lesson that I try to teach clients every day -- the true value of using experts! A few weeks ago, I found a small, slow leak coming out of an outdoor faucet. I thought to myself, "It's no big deal, I'll just grab a wrench and tighten it." When I tightened the faucet, the small leak continued. I tried again, then again -then suddenly, to my horror, the entire faucet broke off, and tons of water spewed all over me and my dog. There was no way to immediately fix the faucet, so I had to turn the water off for the entire house. Soon, my son asked why he could not flush a toilet. Then, my wife told me she could not wash some dishes in the sink. Within minutes I had to confess to my entire family the mistake I made. I found myself urgently calling plumbers, looking for anyone who was willing come to my house immediately on a Sunday afternoon. It was NOT easy, and it was NOT cheap! The plumber explained that the faucet was simply worn with age, and there was no way I could have fixed it by tightening it. It was actually the worst thing I could do. He said the entire problem could have been solved by having a knowledgeable plumber replace it with the correct, better quality faucet, which would have been inexpensive if done the right way. However, since I broke the pipe, the repair was substantially more expensive, as he had to break the wall to fix the piping, then replace the faucet, all done urgently on a Sunday. The repair cost me 30 times more than it would have, had I hired the right expert to do the simple repair. The plumber jokingly promised that he would not practice law and stick to plumbing, if I promised not to do plumbing and stick to being a lawyer! Of course, the plumber and my family took pleasure in reminding me that I did not follow the advice that I give my clients about the true value of experts. That is, it is much faster and better to find the right expert to perform an easy fix, than to make things worse by not hiring the right expert do the job and trying to handle it yourself!

APRENDER EL VALOR DE USO DE EXPERTOS-LA MANERA FÁCIL!!!! Tuve la desafortunada experiencia de volver a aprender una lección importante que trato de enseñar a los clientes todos los días--el verdadero valor de la utilización de expertos! Hace unas semanas atrás encontré una fuga lenta, pequeña saliendo de un grifo exterior. Pensé, "no era gran cosa, sólo podrás coger una llave y apretarlo." Cuando apretó el grifo, la pequeña fuga continuó. Intenté otra vez y entonces otra vez--luego de repente, para mi horror, rompí la grifa entera y toneladas de agua se arrojó sobre mí y mi perro. No había manera de fijar el grifo en ese instante, así que tuve que apagar el agua por la casa entera. Mi hijo me preguntó por qué él podría no tirar de la cadena. Entonces, mi esposa me dijo que no podría lavar platos en el fregadero. Tuve que confesar a toda mi familia el error que hice. Me encontré llamando urgentemente fontaneros, buscando a alguien que estaba dispuesto a venir a mi casa inmediatamente domingo en la tarde. No fue fácil, y no era barato! El plomero explicó que simplemente grifo estaba gastado con la edad, y era imposible apretarlo. Fue la peor cosa que podía hacer. Todo esto podría haber sido fijado con un plomero con experiencia que pudiera arrelgar la girferia de la manera correcta y me iba salir mas barato. Sin embargo, desde el dia que rompí el tubo, la reparación era substancialmente más costosa, como tuvo que romper la pared para fijar la tubería y luego vuelva a colocar el grifo, todo hecho con urgencia el domingo. El coste de la reparación que tendría 30 veces más que él, había contratado al experto correcto para hacer la reparación tan simple. El plomero hizo un broma prometido que no iba practicar la abogacía y pegarse a la plomería, si prometí no hacer fontanería y seguir siendo un abogado! Por supuesto, el plomero y mi familia toman placer en recordarme que no seguí el Consejo que le doy a mis clientes sobre el verdadero valor de los expertos. Es decir, es mucho más rápido y mejor para encontrar el experto adecuado para llevar a cabo una solución fácil, que para empeorar las cosas al no contratar el experto en derecho del trabajo y tratando de hacerlo usted mismo!
