What is LAGLOBE? LAGLOBE (Latin America and Europe in a Global Word) is a multidisciplinary, international master’s programme offered by a consortium of three European universities with an outstanding reputation in their relative fields: Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3, Universidad de Salamanca and Stockholms Universitet. The LAGLOBE program is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree that lasts two years (four semesters - 120 ECTS). It will provide academic and professional opportunities -in social sciences and humanities- in Europe and Latin America. The goal of our Master Relations between Europe and Latin America constantly evolve and develop, reflecting new realities in areas of common cooperation (social, economic, cultural, educative, etc.) in a rapidly evolving world (recent presidential elections and referenda, changing global alliances etc.). That is why, now more than ever, we have the intention to encourage the formation of future experts with both theoretical and practical knowledge. Our aim is to foster cooperation initiatives in areas such as good governance, environment, international trade, human rights, gender equality, poverty reduction, as well as to contribute to the strengthening of the ties between Latin American and Europe. We intend to equip future researchers and private sector and civil society actors with a better understanding of the interaction between the two regions, thanks to a multidisciplinary and multidimensional perspective. We also aim at preparing them for skilled jobs in the public sector, at international organizations or the private sector.

LAGLOBE’s Organization The LAGLOBE takes place in three different universities, in three languages (Spanish, English and French). In the first semester (30 ECTS), all classes are taught in Spanish. Students will attend classes at ​Universidad de Salamanca in the Institute of Iberoamerica where they will have courses on Latin America in political science, economics, history and communications. Students will be studying at the ​Stockholms Universitet​’s Institute of Latin American Studies (LAI), where they will focus on current challenges in Latin America, with special attention given to gender and post-colonialism, democratisation, citizenship and comparative regional integration. During the ​fourth semester ​(30 ECTS), students will write their Master’s degree thesis with a supervisor chosen from either Universidad de Salamanca, Stockholms Universitet or Université Sorbonne Nouvelle. They will conduct either a: ▪ Fieldwork (3 weeks to 3 months). Students will benefit from the help of their supervisor as well as a co-supervisor from one of the associated universities in Latin America or Belgium. ▪ Internship (3 months) with one of the non-academic partners in Latin America or Europe. LAGLOBE’S Admission criteria: The following eligibility criteria must be fulfilled by students applying for the programme: 1.- All candidates must fill the online form available at this ​link​. 2.- An undergraduate degree in social sciences, human sciences or legal sciences, equal or equivalent to 180 ECTS. How to apply? Applications for a ​Erasmus Mundus scholarship for the 2019-2020 cohort are open from 24th December 2018 until 15th February 2019​. For those who want to join our Master programme as a ​self-funded student​, the application period is open from ​24th December 2018 until 20th May 2019​. The selection campaign for scholarship and self-funded candidates consists of two rounds: 1.- ​Pre-selection stage where candidates are reviewed and ranked according to their excellence. If selected, the candidate will have a 2.- ​Skype interview​ with the Selection Committee conducted in French, English and Spanish. ▪ For scholarship candidates, Skype interviews will be performed between the first a second week of March 2019. ▪ For self-funded candidates, Skype interviews will be performed between the first and second week of June 2019. The Erasmus + Scholarship Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degrees (EMJMD) scholarships are offered to ​Partner country applicants and to Programme country applicants. The scholarship is awarded exclusively for a full-time enrolment in the LAGLOBE Master’s programme and will cover the entire duration of the EMJMD study programme. EMJMD scholarships include: ▪ student participation costs (including the tuition fees, full insurance coverage and any other mandatory costs related to student participation in the course) ▪ a contribution to student travel and installation cost ▪ a subsistence allowance for the entire duration of the EMJMD study programme (24 months maximum). Self-funded candidates: Candidates can apply under a self​-​funding scheme, and will have to pay the participation costs. LAGLOBE participation costs do not cover any living or travel expense. The student must have adequate financial support (proof of financial capacity will be requested when applying for a visa). In case of sponsorship or application to external scholarship programmes, self-funded candidates will be required to provide necessary evidence before the LAGLOBE programme starts. Currently, the consortium charges the following participation costs for the totality of the program (2 years): ▪ EU students: 8 980 € ▪ Non-EU students: 17 280 € The fees cover registration and tuition in all the universities, the insurance and the issue of the diplomas.
