P REPARING FOR THE C ONSECRATION OF THE A RCHDIOCESE OF S AN F RANCISCO TO THE I MMACULATE H EART OF M ARY Part 45 IN HER FINAL DAYS, JACINTA PROPHESIED CONCERNING MANY THINGS. She explained the Mother Superior that Jacinta's sisters would die and go to Heaven soon because their mother would not permit them to become nuns, even though Our Lady would have liked it very much. She also told the superior that the superior herself would visit the Cova da Iria one day, as she desired. Jacinta also prophesied about the reality of Hell, of which she was always mindful. "My dear Mother, the sins that bring most souls to Hell are the sins of the flesh. Certain fashions are going to be introduced which will offend Our Lord very much. Those who serve God should not follow these fashions. The Church has no fashions; Our Lord is always the same. The sins of the world are too great. If only people knew what eternity is, they would do everything to change their lives. People lose their souls because they do not think about the death of Our Lord and do not do penance." Jacinta also prophesied about the affairs of families and of nations and of culture. "Many marriages are not good; they do not please Our Lord and are not of God. Pray a great deal for governments. Pity those governments which persecute the religion of Our Lord. If governments left the Church in peace and gave liberty to the Holy Religion, they would be blessed by God." Finally, Jacinta, nine years old and dying of a deeply painful illness, prophesied about the ordinary means to holiness and the value of chastity. "My good Mother, do not give yourself to immodest clothes. Run away from riches. Love holy poverty and silence very much. Be very charitable even with those who are unkind. Never criticize others and avoid those who do. Be very patient, for patience brings us to Heaven. Mortifications and sacrifices please Our Lord a great deal.

"Confession is a sacrament of mercy. That is why people should approach the confessional with confidence and joy. Without confession, there is no salvation.

"The Mother of God wants a large number of virgin souls to bind themselves to her by the vow of chastity. I would enter a convent with great joy but my joy is greater because I am going to Heaven. To be a religious, one has to be very pure in soul and body. To be pure in body means to preserve chastity. To be pure in soul means to avoid sin, not to look at what would be sinful, not to steal, never lie and always tell the truth even when it is hard. Whoever does not fulfill promises made to Our Lady will not be blessed in life." †

EN SUS ÚLTIMOS DÍAS, JACINTA PROFETIZÓ ACERCA DE MUCHAS COSAS. Explicó a la Madre Superiora que las hermanas de Jacinta morirían e irían al Cielo pronto porque su madre no les permitiría convertirse en monjas, aunque a Nuestra Señora le hubiera gustado mucho. También le dijo a la superiora, que la misma superiora visitara la Cova da Iria un día, como ella deseaba. Jacinta también profetizó acerca de la realidad del Infierno, de la cual ella siempre estuvo atenta. "Mi querida Madre, los pecados que llevan al alma al infierno son los pecados de la carne. Ciertas modas se van a introducir las cuales ofenderán mucho a Nuestro Señor. Aquellos que sirven a Dios no deben seguir estas modas. La gente pierde su alma porque ellos no piensan acerca de la muerte de Nuestro Señor y no hacen penitencia”. Jacinta también profetizó sobre los asuntos de las familias y de las naciones y de la cultura. "Muchos matrimonios no son buenos, no agradan a Nuestro Señor y no son de Dios. Recen mucho por los gobiernos. Pidan piedad por los gobiernos que persiguen la religión de Nuestro Señor. Si los gobiernos dejaron la Iglesia en paz y dieran la libertad a la Santa Religión, ellos serían bendecidos por Dios. " Finalmente, Jacinta, de nueve años y muriendo de una enfermedad profundamente dolorosa, profetizó sobre los medios ordinarios de santidad y el valor de la castidad. "Mi buena Madre, no te entregues a la ropa inmodesta. Huye de las riquezas. Ama mucho la santa pobreza y el silencio. Sé muy caritativo incluso con aquellos que no son amables. Nunca critiques a los demás y evita a aquellos que lo hacen. Se muy paciente, porque paciencia nos lleva al Cielo. Las mortificaciones y los sacrificios agradan mucho a Nuestro Señor. "La confesión es un sacramento de misericordia. Es por eso por lo que la gente debe acercarse al confesionario con confianza y alegría. Sin la confesión, no hay salvación. "La Madre de Dios quiere que un gran número de almas vírgenes que se unan a ella por el voto de castidad. Yo entraría a un convento con gran gozo, pero mi alegría es mayor porque voy al Cielo. Para poder ser religioso, uno tiene que ser puro en el cuerpo y en el alma. Para ser puro de cuerpo significa conservar la castidad. Para ser puro de alma significa evitar el pecado, no mirar lo que sería pecaminoso, no robar, nunca mentir y siempre decir la verdad incluso cuando es difícil. Quien no cumple las promesas hechas a Nuestra Señora va a ser bendecido en la vida”. †
