Ana María Echeverría Lübbert Nació en Santiago de Chile, estudió en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Chile, donde se especializó en grabado. En esa misma casa de estudios creó y estudió la carrera de Fotografía, con el mismo estatus académico que las carreras de pintura, grabado y escultura, lo que la convirtió, en 1976, en la primera

Su labor profesional la ha desarrollado en importantes medios de comunicación: diario La Nación de Chile, Revista del Domingo del diario El Mercurio, El Cronista, revista dominical del Mercurio de regiones, también en importantes centros educativos, Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes de Lima, Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad del Pacífico de Lima, entre otras. También fue asistente de Dirección y curadora de Gráfica y Fotografía del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de Chile. Ha participado en exposiciones colectivas de pintura, grabado y fotografía en Chile y Perú. En el 2004 presentó la muestra individual de fotografía documental Las Casas de Neruda, en el Centro Cultural de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.

En 1998, año que decide radicar en Perú, ingresa a la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes de Lima como profesora de Fotografía. Poco tiempo después ingresa al staff de revista Cosas, donde ha sido retratista y fotógrafa principal durante nueve años. Autora de libro “Intimidad de la Creación”, Talleres de Artistas plásticos del Perú, libro de fotografías de los talleres y su quehacer creativo de 20 connotados artistas plásticos peruanos. Es en la fotografía editorial donde encuentra su mayor medio de expresión.
Ana María Echeverría Lübbert was born in Santiago de Chile. She studied at the School of F ine Arts of Universidad de Chile, where she earned a degree in Arts with a major in engraving. In that university, she created the professional career of Photography, with the same academic status as the professional careers of painting, engraving and sculpture. She herself studied that professional career, and in 1976, she became the first graduate student from this specialty at a university level in South America. She worked at major Chilean media outlets: in La Nación, the “Revista del Domingo” of El Mercurio newspaper; in “El Cronista,” Sunday magazine of regional El Mercurio; as among others. She participated in different painting, engraving and photography collective exhibitions in Chile and was Graphic and Photography Curator of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in her country.

In 1998, when she decided to live in Peru, she joined the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes as a professor of Photography. Some time later, she joined the Cosas magazine staff, where she became a main photographer and portraitist for nine years. In 2004, she presented the documentary photography solo exhibition called Las Casas de Neruda, at the Centro Cultural de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú [Cultural Center of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru]. Author of the book “Intimacy of Creation”, Peruvian Fine Artists’ Studios, a photographic book about the ateliers and creative work of 20 renowned Peruvian plastic artists. It is in the editorial photography where she found her main means of expression.
