Gary holds a B.A. in Biology from Drake University in Des Moines, IA, and a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, TX. Additionally has taken courses toward a D.Min in Missions from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago, IL. Gary along with his family served as ABWE missionaries in Santiago, Chile, from 1967 to 1977. He then served as the professor of Missions for Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, IA, from 1977 to 1984 and then at Piedmont Baptist Bible College in Winston-Salem, NC, from 1986 to 2003. He has pastored Faith Baptist Church in Hudson, IA. From 2003 to 2008 Gary served BMM with Campus Bible Fellowship ministering on four different university campuses in the state of North Carolina. He has ministered internationally conducting pastoral training courses in Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Peru, Spain, and Ecuador. Since 2008 Gary has ministered with EBI as a Curriculum Coordinator in the Department of Theological Curriculum. Gary and his wife Wilma have two adult children, Elizabeth and Jim, and three grandchildren.

Max graduated from Grand Rapids Bible College with his degree in Religious Education and from Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary in 1968 with a Masters of Divinity (M. Div.). In 1994 he graduated from Luther Rice Seminary with a doctorate (D. Min.) with an emphasis in pastoral ministry. Max joined Baptist Mid-Missions in 1968 while serving as the pastor of Manton Baptist Church in Michigan. He served as a missionary in Brazil for 37 years and planted Baptist churches in the following cities: Sao Paul, 1981; Curitiba 1986; and Sao Jose dos Pinhais, 2006. He served as the director for Bible Institute of Belem and the Vicedirector of the Bible Institute of Curitiba. He taught Bible Doctrines and Pastoral Theology for 25 years, as well as a Masters of Ministry Program for pastors for 11 years. Since 2009 Max has served as the Editor of Courses (theological curriculum) and as EBI’s Northern representative. Max and his wife reside in Portland, MI and they have three children: Pamela, Kimberly and Michael, as well as five grandchildren.
