“Fine, thanks”, Esteve Masclans
Esteve was born in Barcelona in 1994. George Harrison, Bob Dylan and The Beatles were the sounds of his childhood. When he was just a child, his father invited him to watch The Last Waltz, and this was the moment he realized he could be nothing but a musician. Despite he’s a trained percussionist, he was given his first guitar at the age of 14 as a present, and from that moment his guitar is the instrument he feels more comfortable with to both compose and sing. A tireless researcher of different styles and music proposals, from The Doors to Jeff Buckley, or Caravan and the early years of Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett, Esteve recognizes his passion for the music of the 60’s and 70’s, and its huge influence on the way he composes and sings. Those songs that were part of the soundtrack of his recently abandoned adolescence have led him to start his new project, reinventing his music while he looks for a personal sound to bring to the stage. The result is “Fine, thanks” (Self edited), released in February 2014, which has just started touring in Spain in electronic format. Esteve’s personal voice and style when composing the songs, together with the whole band’s youth and music skills surprise those who have the chance of attending their gigs, and the band is already getting great write-ups in Spanish specialized press.
