PASTOR’S CORNER

Estimados Feligreses,

Dear Parishioners,

Let's give a big round of applause to Laurie Dunlap, Carmen Williams and their team that planned a glorious Valentine's Day Party for hundreds of our parishioners. The renewal of vows, the excellent food, the eclectic music, the songs and the dancing expressed the joy and unity of the Beloved Community that is Holy Family.

Mark your calendar for St. Patrick/St. Joseph celebration on Saturday, March 19th.

Please join me on Friday, February 26th (Think God, it's Friday) at 6:30 PM in Fr. Griffin Hall, for a presentation by Fr. Bob Cilinski. His topic is Liturgy; Celebration of Community. Fr. Bob served at Holy Family some years ago and is one of the leading priests of our Diocese. He is Pastor of Nativity Parish and was recently appointed Diocesan Vicar for Charities. A big thank you, for your support to the Bishop's Lenten Appeal and Project Rice Bowl. Let us accompany Pope Francis in his visit to Mexico and our Southern Border with our prayers. May his words bring all of us to a compassionate understanding of the plight of immigrants and refugees. Join me Monday at 9:30 am, in the Baptistery, as we reflect on the scriptures,

With Lenten Blessings, Fr. Gerry Creedon

2016 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal Begins! Go forth as heralds of God’s mercy!! This weekend every family in our parish will be asked to complete a Bishop’s Lenten Appeal (BLA) pledge form at Mass. If you have already donated through the mail or online or are not able to participate, there will be places to note that on the form. After reflecting upon the many blessings that God has given you, please prayerfully consider making a pledge of support to this important appeal that funds many programs, offices and ministries that serve people in need and further Jesus' Mission in our diocese.

Stewardship Reflections February 21, 2016

2nd Sunday of Lent “I am the Lord who brought you from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land as a possession.” (GENESIS 15:7) Just as the Lord gave Abraham, Moses and the Israelites a land to possess, He has also given each of us a home. Whether our home is grand or humble, it is a gift from God. Abraham prepared a great sacrifice to the Lord in gratitude for the home God gave him. How do we show our gratitude to God for the home He has given us? Do we make a sacrifice of any kind? Do we return any of our finances to God, investing equally in our eternal home just as we invest in our earthly home?
