“Hola! Hoy te voy a hablar y mostrar mi barrio. // Hi! Today I’m going to tell you about and show you my neighborhood. I see a neighborhood that has been growing over time. I feel that people here are happy to live in a house and have their family. I hear many boys and girls playing outside of their houses. I smell light humidity because it has rained these days. I like that for being such a small neighborhood we have many businesses. I would like you to realize that as a neigborhood with a dirt street we have some very beautiful trees. By walking and investigating my neighborhood I have come to realize that there are many curious and interesting things about it.” -Out of Eden Learn student, Mrpatata123, Monte Grande, Argentina, ‘Taking Neighborhood Walks’

Blog post: Slow Journalism, Community Storytelling, and Out of Eden Learn’s Curriculum: The Experience of an Aspiring Journalist “I chose this photo because the first time I saw it I thought it was strange because of its unique shape, it looks like a lightbulb! I also took this photo because of its bright colours and how the colours look cheerful particularly in the winter months because it is very cold then!!!! I think that people should understand that sometimes it takes a long time to do things and sometimes things don’t even get done, like the little buds at the top that are getting bigger and more colourful as they lead to the flower in full bloom! After I took a slow walk around my neighbourhood I noticed a lot more things than I would have noticed if I was in a car!” -Out of Eden Learn student, Fischer, Launceston, Australia, ‘Taking Neighborhood Walks’
