HOMEWORK-​ ​A​ ​Parent’s  Supporting​ ​Role   When​ ​it​ ​comes​ ​to​ ​homework,​ ​be​ ​there​ ​to​ ​offer  support​ ​and​ ​guidance,​ ​answer​ ​questions,​ ​help 

interpret​ ​assignment​ ​instructions,​ ​and​ ​review​ ​the 

completed​ ​work.​ ​Be​ ​sure​ ​to​ ​resist​ ​the​ ​urge​ ​to​ ​provide  the​ ​right​ ​answers​ ​or​ ​complete​ ​assignments.  

Focus​ ​on​ ​helping​ ​kids​ ​develop​ ​the​ ​problem-solving 

skills​ ​they'll​ ​need​ ​to​ ​get​ ​through​ ​this​ ​assignment​ ​and 

any​ ​others,​ ​and​ ​offer​ ​your​ ​encouragement​ ​as​ ​they​ ​do.

Excellent​ ​Attendance​ ​is​ ​Key! 

Being​ ​in​ ​school​ ​every​ ​day​ ​means​ ​that​ ​your​ ​child​ ​won’t  miss​ ​out​ ​on​ ​learning!​ ​Try​ ​to​ ​schedule​ ​appointments​ ​and  family​ ​trips​ ​outside​ ​of​ ​school​ ​hours.​ ​Students​ ​should  never​ ​stay​ ​home​ ​“just​ ​because”.​ ​Explain​ ​to​ ​your​ ​child​ ​that  they​ ​should​ ​only​ ​be​ ​absent​ ​if​ ​they​ ​are​ ​sick​ ​or​ ​if​ ​there’s​ ​a  family​ ​emergency.

Asistir​ ​a​ ​las​ ​clases​ ​todos​ ​los​ ​días​ ​significa​ ​que​ ​su​ ​hijo(a)​ ​no  se​ ​pierde​ ​la​ ​oportunidad​ ​de​ ​aprender.​ ​Trate​ ​de​ ​programar  las​ ​citas​ ​y​ ​viajes​ ​familiares​ ​fuera​ ​del​ ​horario​ ​escolar.​ ​ ​Los  estudiantes​ ​nunca​ ​deberían​ ​quedarse​ ​en​ ​casa​ ​ ​“porque​ ​sí”.  Explique​ ​a​ ​su​ ​hijo(a)​ ​que​ ​debería​ ​ausentarse​ ​solamente​ ​si  está​ ​enfermo(a)​ ​ ​o​ ​si​ ​hay​ ​una​ ​emergencia​ ​familiar.
