DREAMER TOWN HALL What’s next for our DREAMers? NEW DATE

Leto High School (Auditorium) 4409 W. Sligh Ave., Tampa, FL 33614 DREAMers are our students who were brought to the United States at an early age and know no other home. In 2012, President Obama granted the DREAMers a reprieve from deportation through executive action, allowing them to continue to be productive members of our society, pursuing education, careers, and in some cases, serving in the military. President-elect Donald Trump has promised to “immediately terminate” President Obama’s executive actions on immigration, including deportation protections granted to DREAMers. All of us have a stake in our DREAMers because we have invested in them. DREAMers have played by the rules and now want to join the workforce and give back to their community. What will that mean for our country and DREAMers who call this community home? Join me, Hillsborough County School Board Member Susan L. Valdes, Dr. Lydia Medrano of LULAC, and other experts and family defenders for a special town hall meeting on immigration focused on the DREAMers.

Leto High School (Auditorio) 4409 W. Sligh Ave., Tampa, FL 33614 DREAMers son nuestros estudiantes traídos a los Estados Unidos a una edad temprana y no conocen otro hogar. En 2012, el Presidente Obama les concedió un respiro de la deportación a través de la acción ejecutiva, permitiéndoles seguir siendo miembros productivos de nuestra sociedad; continuando su educación, carreras y en algunos casos prestando servicio militar. El presidente electo Donald Trump ha prometido "terminar inmediatamente" las acciones ejecutivas del presidente Obama en materia de inmigración; incluyendo la protección de la deportación otorgada a los “DREAMers”. Esto nos afecta a todos porque todos hemos invertido en nuestros DREAMers. Ellos no han hecho nada incorrecto y desean ser parte de la fuerza laboral de este país y trabajar por su comunidad. ¿Qué significa eso para nuestro país y para los DREAMers que llaman a esta comunidad su hogar?
