Our Goal:

Design a Christmas Card

We want you to design the front cover of the Christmas card for The Wenatchee World that will be sent out to our friends and customers in North Central Washington this holiday season. This contest is open to children in grades 2-5 in Chelan and Douglas Counties. In selecting the official Wenatchee World Christmas card, the committee will emphasize art themes that creatively incorporate the newspaper into the card. However, all symbols and interpretations of Christmas are encouraged and will be accepted. A team of designers from The Wenatchee World will pick the top winner.

Here are the guidelines:

• Artwork should be hand-drawn. No computer-assisted graphics, please. • Artwork should be on 8.5x11 paper and can be vertical or horizontal. • Paper can be white or colored tone. • Use crayons, markers, paints or pastels. Bright colors will show up better. • Keep your design simple and use bold elements. Try to use up all of the space on the paper. • Be creative and have fun with art.

The winner will receive a framed original of their artwork, a $50 gift certificate to HASTINGS Books, Music & Video, and their classroom will receive a pizza party on us!

Diseñe una tarjeta Navideña

Queremos que usted diseñe la portada de una tarjeta Navideña para el periódico The Wenatchee World que enviarán a nuestros amigos y clientes del Norte Central de Washington en este tiempo festivo.   Esta competencia esta abierta para ninos en grados 2-5. En condados Chelan Y Douglas. En seleccionar la tarjeta de Navidad para el Wenatchee World, el comite acentuara los temas del arte que creativo incorporan el periodico. Sin embargo todos los simbolos y interpretaciones de  Navidad se animan y seran aceptados.

Usted tiene que seguir algunas reglas:

• El trabajo de arte debe ser dibujo hecho a mano. Por favor ninguna asistencia de gráfica por computadora. • El tamaño de su trabajo de arte debe ser en un papel 8.5x11 y puede ser vertical o horizontal.  • El papel  puede ser blanco  o de color. • Puede usar creyones, marcadores, pinturas o colores pasteles. Los colores brillantes se mostrarán mejor. • Mantenga su diseño simple y use elementos sobre salientes. Trate de usar todo el espacio de su papel. • Animar a los jóvenes a que sean creativos y para que se diviertan con el arte.
