Who can be a Confirmation Sponsor The qualifications for Confirmation sponsors are established by Canon Law. In summary, to be admitted to the role of Confirmation sponsor, a person must meet all the following requirements: 1. Be at least 16 years old 2. Be a Catholic who has been Confirmed, has already received the sacrament of Holy Eucharist; and leads a life in harmony with the faith and the role of a sponsor 3.
