Hempstead Independent School District Announces Free Meals under the Community Eligibility Provisions (CEP) for 2018-2019 Hempstead Independent School District announced today it will continue its policy to operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2018-2019 school year. The District participates in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP), allowing all students at the Elementary/Pre-K Campus, Hempstead Middle School and High School to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch per day without filling out a lunch application. It is necessary however, that parents fill out a Socio-economic Form per household, this form will be included in the first day packet. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
