Addressed to: A maximum of 24 teachers of English bilingual programs (CLIL, British..) in Secondary Education, and third cycle of Primary Education. English as a foreign language teachers may also sign up but they will not have priority. A minimum of 12 teachers is required. Justification Given the importance of successfully integrating Information and Communication Technologies (I.C.Ts) in every day teaching, this seminar will explore a broad range of applications and resources designed for teaching EFL in Secondary School and bilingual programs. Aims • • • •

Improve your knowledge, understanding and confidence using ICTs Save time and energy and use the internet to prepare class activities and projects Connect creatively with your learners and increase motivation Discover and learn about key resources/platforms in English language teaching

Steps to digital literacy

Finding what you really need quickly and efficiently (web searching skills) Organising what you find (social book-marking and curating) Presenting information in a learner-friendly format

2. Integrating technology • • • •

Working with on-screen text Designing activities around Web 2.0 type online resources (video) Setting up and using class or learner blogs or websites Project based approaches (digital or multimedia storytelling)

Managing your learners (via learning platforms and communities) Creating your own interactive or other digital materials Other cloud-based software, mobile applications, tablets & whiteboards

Methodology A practical methodology will be used. In addition to the 25-hours of face-to-face classes, participants will need to work approximately 15 hours out of the classroom creating a project the teacher will explain. Teacher David Rhymes: teacher, teacher trainer, e-learning instructional designer. Duration: 35 hours, 20 face-to-face hours and 15 hours of personal work. Selection Criteria If more than 24 teachers are keen on taking part in the seminar the following criteria will be applied: 1- English Bilingual Program teachers in Secondary Education, and third cycle of Primary Education 2- English as as Second Language teachers in Secondary Education, and third cycle of Primary Education 3- Order of registration Notes • Signing up needs to be completed before the 15th of October at the following web page: http://formacionprofesorado.educacion.navarra.es (inscripciones/ izen ematea) • Once the signing period is over, teachers will have to check their admission at the following web page: http://formacionprofesorado.educacion.navarra.es (lista de admitidos/ onartuen zerrenda) • If for whatever reason an admitted teacher cannot finally take part in the activity, he or she must let the organisation know before the activity starts. Teachers that do not do so may not be admitted in future courses.
