P REPARING FOR THE C ONSECRATION OF THE A RCHDIOCESE OF S AN F RANCISCO TO THE I MMACULATE H EART OF M ARY Part 16 LUCIA RELATES THE THIRD PART OF THE SECRET OF FATIMA:

“After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: Penance, Penance, Penance!'. And we saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it’ a Bishop dressed in White ‘we had the impression that it was the Holy Father’. “Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.” Lucia herself gives us the interpretive key for understanding the Third Part of the Secret: “The third part of the secret refers to Our Lady's words: ‘If not [Russia] will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated' (13-VII-1917). “The third part of the secret is a symbolic revelation, referring to this part of the Message, conditioned by whether we accept or not what the Message itself asks of us: ‘If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, etc. “Since we did not heed this appeal of the Message, we see that it has been fulfilled, Russia has invaded the world with her errors. And if we have not yet seen the complete fulfilment of the final part of this prophecy, we are going towards it little by little with great strides. If we do not reject the path of sin, hatred, revenge, injustice, violations of the rights of the human person, immorality and violence, etc.

“And let us not say that it is God who is punishing us in this way; on the contrary, it is people themselves who are preparing their own punishment. In his kindness God warns us and calls us to the right path, while respecting the freedom he has given us; hence people are responsible.” †

LUCÍA RELATA LA TERCERA PARTE DEL SECRETO DE FÁTIMA: "Después de las dos partes que yo ya les he explicado, a la izquierda de Nuestra Señora y un poco más arriba, vimos un Ángel con una espada flameante en su mano izquierda; parpadeando, dio las llamas que parecían que iban a encender al mundo en fuego; pero murieron en contacto con el esplendor que Nuestra Señora irradiaba hacia él desde su mano derecha: señalando la tierra con su mano derecha, el Ángel gritó en voz alta: ¡Penitencia, Penitencia, Penitencia! Y vimos en una luz inmensa que es Dios: ‘algo parecido de cómo las personas aparecen en un espejo cuando pasan delante de él’ a un Obispo vestido de Blanco ‘tuvimos la impresión de que era el Santo Padre’. “Otros Obispos, Sacerdotes, hombre y mujeres Religiosos subían por una montaña empinada, en la cima de la cual había una gran Cruz de troncos toscos como un corcho de la corteza; antes de llegar allí, el Santo Padre pasó en medio de una gran ciudad en ruinas y medio temblando a paso vacilante, afligido con dolor y tristeza, el rezo por las almas de los cadáveres que encontraba en su camino; al llegar a la cima de la montaña, se arrodillo al pie de la gran Cruz, él fue asesinado por un grupo de soldados que dispararon balas y flechas a él, y de la misma manera, murieron uno tras otro los otros Obispos, Sacerdotes, hombres y mujeres Religiosos, y varios laicos de diferentes rangos y posiciones. Debajo de los dos brazos de la Cruz había dos Ángeles cada uno con un aspersorio de cristal en la mano, con el cual recogían la sangre de los Mártires y con ella rociaban las almas que estaban de camino para llegar a Dios.” La misma Lucía nos da la clave interpretativa para entender la Tercera Parte del Secreto: "La tercera parte del secreto se refiere a las palabras de Nuestra Señora: 'Si no [Rusia] propagará sus errores en todo el mundo, provocando guerras y persecuciones de la Iglesia. Los buenos serán martirizados; El Santo Padre tendrá mucho que sufrir; varias naciones serán aniquiladas "(13-VII-1917). "La tercera parte del secreto es una revelación simbólica, refiriéndose a esta parte del Mensaje, condicionada por si aceptamos o no lo que el propio Mensaje nos pide: 'Si mis peticiones son atendidas, Rusia se convertirá y allí habrá paz; si no, ella propagara sus errores por todo el mundo ", etc. "Puesto que no escuchamos este llamado del Mensaje, vemos que se ha cumplido, Rusia ha invadido el mundo con sus errores. Y si aún no hemos visto el cumplimiento completo de la parte final de esta profecía, vamos hacia ella poco a poco con grandes pasos. Si no rechazamos el camino del pecado, el odio, la venganza, la injusticia, la violación de los derechos de la persona humana, la inmoralidad y la violencia, etc. "Y no digamos que es Dios quien nos castiga de esta manera; por el contrario, son las propias personas quienes están preparando su propio castigo. En su bondad Dios nos advierte y nos llama al camino correcto, respetando la libertad que él nos ha dado; por lo tanto, las personas son responsables ". †
