TES - TRAUTMANN ELEMENTARY Chair Persons of CNA campus committees prioritize needs and recommend to SBDM Committee initiatives/strategies/activities that will meet campus needs. SBDM Committee will approve initiatives/strategies/activities that will be placed in Campus Improvement Plan.
Demographics Needs : Increase the accountability for all teachers and monitor the consistency in providing LEP students with appropriate accommodations and implementation of ELPS strategies. Monitor the academic growths and successes for students who are identified as M1s, M2s, M3s, and M4s. Improve the level of students' vocabulary through the implementation of vocabulary-rich activities with implementation of technology. Improve student’s academic success and parental involvement on the UISD Science Fair by implementing a Homework Help intervention to address requirements for district projects. Promote appreciation of diversity by implementing activities that celebrate cultural differences. Strategies : - Implement Masters Tutorials for students who scored meets in 4th and 5th grade. Tutorials for 3rd grade will be implemented based on students not reading at Level 30 or above, 2nd grade students coming in reading at a Level 18 or lower, and 1st grade not reading at Level 8. - Implement Data Binders to guide students to set goals, track their goals and celebrate victories from 1st-5th grades. - Implement the use of A.R. Vocabulary Quizzes for all students (monitor ELL and Special Education student performance). - Implement a Homework Help intervention day (Science the second semester) that addresses student’s and parent’s questions and concerns about the districts projects. - Implement a School Wide celebration day that targets cultural differences such as Christmas Around the World. (Activity would follow SOS format)

School Culture & Climate Needs : Incorporate more teachers and students in the TES PBIS mentoring program to service more students needing improvement in academics and/or motivation. Promote great relationships amongst students where they are assigned to mentor a student that might have a hard time transitioning to a new school/grade level. Encourage students to be active participants in making decisions regarding our campus. Promote school safety following campus PBIS guidelines.
Strategies : - Implement new PBIS School wide Leadership Jobs and classroom jobs. Excellence compliments will be earned by exhibiting good behavior in cafeteria, library, P. E., music, etc. - Create a “Big Brother/Big Sister” system where students influence their peers by giving them a positive outlook on school/life. - Monitor the participation of students in social clubs. (Save the Earth Club, Tutoring Centers) where they can show that their voices are being heard and they take part in making a difference and helping their peers. - Implement periodic scheduled lockdowns and fire drills and ensure all students and staff are trained on following safety procedures.

Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment Needs : Increase vocabulary development and writings skills across all grade levels through intentional, instructional activities. Increase the use of technology in Science lab for hands-on learning. Additional vocabulary development in all subject areas; including developing writing skills, oral expression and technology implementation Continue/improve X-STREAM presentations via V-Brick with implementation of Science, Technology, novel reading, arts and engineering/mathematics. Math Bees – incorporate more word problems into Math Bees to increase academic vocabulary. Strategies : - Monitor the implementation of Vocabulary Quizzes through AR. Increase novel reading in all grade levels to increase vocabulary and reading comprehension. - Expand the implementation of the IFPs and Google Docs for all 4th and 5th grade students when visiting Science labs. - Monitor the growth of students' vocabulary through AR Vocabulary Quizzes for struggling students. - Improve Math Bee powerpoints to include mathematical academic vocabulary for students across all grade levels instead of number sentences only. - Implement engineering activities that expand student knowledge in the areas of technology, science, reading, math, and art. -Monitor vocabulary development through oral expression and research skills when implementing our Texan TV announcements in which students are expected to present via V-Brick Word of the Week, Mighty Sentences, Weather at a Glance, and other daily announcements.

School Context and Organization Needs : Update evacuation safety plan based on classroom assignments for 2018-2019 school calendar. Incorporate safety procedures according to UISD's School Firearm and Safety Plan Update and ensure campus safety -clean restrooms, locked doors, tidy learning environments --monitored by administration
Strategies : - Based on the updated 2017-2018 classroom assignments, a new evacuation plan was implemented. - Provide training to teachers and staff on new school safety plan and implement drills as directed by school district. -The implementation of the Custodial Performance Survey through Google Survey will target areas needing improvement during the course of a 6 week period.

Teacher Quality Needs : Continue to provide professional growth opportunities to teachers by shadowing teachers at our campus and other elementary UISD campuses - Learning Walks Provide new teachers to grade levels with a mentor to guide them and provide immediate feedback for improvement. Improve employee attendance rates
Strategies : - Continue with In-Campus Learning Walks (during teachers' planning periods); coordinate with other UISD elementary campus for Learning Walks visits. - Create a plan to monitor and provide timely feedback to teachers assigned to a new grade level. Provide opportunities to be mentored by peers on curriculum and grade level expectations. - Provide other incentives for perfect attendance such as 1 hour breakfast/lunch, special parking space, perfect attendance bulletin board in teacher’s lounge, etc.

Family and Community Involvement Needs : Improve parental awareness of the STAAR State Assessment academic requirements through hands on parental sessions. Increase accountability of all parents and students with regards to school attendance and punctuality. Continue to promote parental and community involvement in academics through make and take sessions
Strategies : - Increase parental involvement through parent sessions with make and take classes. - Implement a Tardy Slip Method in order to make students and teachers accountable for tardy documentation. After certain tardies, student and parent will meet with principal to determine consequence to the severity of the tardies (possible extended day). Continue/Improve parents sessions for 3rd thru 5th grade by targeting STAAR expectations(Rdg./Math skills and strategies). Clima y Cultura Escolar Necesidades : Incorporar más maestros y estudiantes en el programa de mentores TES PBIS para servir a más estudiantes que necesiten mejorar académicamente y/o motivacionalmente. Promover buenas relaciones entre estudiantes mentores con estudiantes que tengan dificultad en hacer transición a nueva escuela/año. Animar a los estudiantes a participar activamente en decisiones de nuestro campus. Promover seguridad escolar siguiendo las pautas de PBIS en el campus. Estrategias : - Implementar nuevos Roles de Liderazgo PBIS en la escuela y clase. Cumplidos de Excelencia se ganaran al exhibir buen comportamiento en la cafetería, biblioteca, Educación Física., música, etc. - Crear un sistema "Hermano(a) Mayor" donde estudiantes sean de influencia positiva en sus compañeros a través del ejemplo. - Monitorear la participación de estudiantes en clubs sociales. Contexto Escolar y Organización Necesidades : Actualizar plan de evacuación de seguridad basado en la asignación de salones para el año escolar 2018-2019 . Incorporar procedimientos de seguridad de acuerdo al Plan de Seguridad y Armas de Fuego Escolar de UISD. Actualizar y asegurar la seguridad en campus - baños limpios, puertas cerradas con llave, ambiente limpio- monitoreado por administración.
Estrategias : - Basado en la asignación de salones 2017-2018 actualizada, se implementó un nuevo plan de evacuación. - Proveer entrenamiento a maestros y personal en nuevo plan de seguridad escolar e implementar prácticas recomendadas por el distrito escolar. - La implementación de Encuesta de Desempeño de Conserjes a través de Encuesta Google a fin de atender areas que requieran mejorar durante el período de 6 semanas.

Teacher Quality Necesidades : Continuar ofreciendo oportunidades de crecimiento profesional a maestros observando maestros en nuestro campus y otros campuses de UISD - Caminatas de Aprendizaje. Proveer un mentor a maestros nuevos a un año que los guie y ofrezca retroalimentación inmediata para mejorar. Mejorar la tasa de asistencia de empleados.
Estrategias : - Continuar con Caminatas de Aprendizaje en campus (en período de planeación de maestros); coordinar con otros campuses de UISD para visitas de Caminatas de Aprendizaje. - Crear un plan para monitorear y proveer retroalimentación a maestros asignados a un año nuevo. Proveer oportunidades de tener un mentor en plan de estudios y expectativas del año escolar. - Proveer otros incentivos por asistencia perfecta tales como 1 hora de desayuno/comida, estacionamiento especial, pizarrón de anuncios de asistencia perfecta en sala de maestros, etc.

Participación Familiar y Comunitaria Necesidades : Mejorar conciencia de padres de requisitos académicos de la evaluación estatal STAAR a través de sesiones prácticas con padres. Incrementar responsabilidad de padres y estudiantes con respecto a asistencia y puntualidad. Continuar promoviendo participación de padres y comunidad a través de sesiones de "hacer y llevar".
Estrategias : - Incrementar participación de padres a través de sesiones de "hacer y llevar". - Implementar un método de boletas de retardos para responsabilizar a estudiantes y maestros de documentación. Después de cierto número de retardos, estudiante y padres se reunirán con directora para determinar consecuencia por la severidad de los retrasos (posible día extendido). Continuar/Mejorar sesiones de padres de 3ro a 5to año enfocadas en expectativas STAAR (Estrategias de Lectura/Matemáticas). Junta con padres se llevará a cabo el primer semestre y será sesión de "hacer y llevar". Incrementar Lectores Invitados VBrick

TES - TRAUTMANN ELEMENTARY Los presidentes de los comités de CNA del campus priorizan las necesidades y recomiendan al Comité SBDM iniciativas/estrategias/actividades que cubrirán las necesidades. El Comité SBDM aprobará las iniciativas/estrategias/actividades que se implementarán en el Plan de Mejoras del Campus. Tecnología Necesidades : Utilizar V-Brick como una herramienta de instrucción para todos los niveles y promover eventos escolares. Utilizar tecnología para mejorar comunicación con padres y mantenerlos informados de eventos presentes y futuros; REMIND; Class Dojo; Gabbart (página de escuela y de maestro) Oportunidades para maestros y estudiantes de mejorar habilidades computacionales; incrementar implementación de Google suite via Chromebooks, IFPs, Tabletas, etc.
Estrategias : - Incrementar responsabilidad estudiantil en crear proyectos con base a tecnología apropiados a su nivel escolar durante el año. - Hacer plan para que todo maestro mantenga su página de clase (programa Gabbart) semanalmente; aparte de notificaciones en REMIND. - Desarrollar un plan para mantener el equipo tecnológico del salón (MLD y IFPs) en el mejor estado (adherirse a políticas de escuela/ distrito sobre tecnología).
